500 ml bottle picked up at the local Norma and had at home in Germany. Pours a dark almost black color with a red tint and a brown head. Aroma deep malt, sweet coco, and caramel. Taste is is much the same with some smoked walnuts as well. Palate is nice a very fine DB

Clear medium to dark brown colour with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, bread, caramel, toasted, brown sugar. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, bread, caramel, caramelized sugar - caramel, light chocolate, light to moderate dried berry - fruit sweet. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20120224]

The bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass very dark, almost black, small head. Sweet-malty aroma. Starts the same. Strong and sweet-malty. Thats how I like a doppelbock. Also some hints of caramell. Finish less sweet, more dry. Quite drinkable for a doppelbock. A good one!
