Gut! 8/12/11/12/12/12

Bottle 50cl from Quack-Duck, a clear amber brown beer with small creamy head. Nose is malty and caramel like. Aroma is malty, caramel, sweet, a bit grassy and vegetable like, good body, toasted notes, very pleasant.

Yet another gift from the Mayor of Germany - thank you! Soft, light caramel in the sip - very easy to drink. This is a great Mai-Bock!!!

(bottle) Clear, deep golden to amber colour with a tanned thick foamy head. Moderately sweet cara-malty aroma with bready accents. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Bready malt-character with caramel, herbal and subtle fruity notes; sweet-bitter cara-malty finish with present herbal hops and a well-covered alcoholic strength. Good. 09.VII.11

Bottle: Solid caramelly-bready nose with a toasty touch and a tinge of metal; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, quite full bodied; a tinge of alcohol in the sweet-caramelly finish, followed by a light tartness. O.K. , but not great.......

Lovely color, amber/brown, with ample carbonation and a dense initial head. Prototypical maibock aroma, earthy with molasses and leafy hops, slightly spicy - very fresh and very good. Flavor is so German, so natural, so earthy. Slight-to-moderate bitterness (leafy, organic, bitter greens) with some saltiness. Medium sweetness (molasses, iron). Palate almost to spritzy, but not quite. Defines Maibock to me.

Bottle from Quack-Duck, thanks! Pale amber color. Malty bready flavor, firmly hopped. Notes of grass and citrus. peach. Shy aroma with malt and grass. Almost vinous aftertaste. Nice!

500 ml bottle in Germany from my local Norma. Poured a dark amber color with a larger sized tan head. Aroma and taste of yeast, bread, caramel, and light fruits. Very easy to drink. Alcohol content hidden. This was a huge surprise.

Tried to get this beer in Saxony without succes, finally found it in a Norma-market in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The bottle looks really good, beer in the glass also, deep golden, nice head. Spicy-grasy aroma. Starts intense spicy, some wheaty-grasy notes, soft touch of lemon. Finish well balanced, not as intense spicy as the beginning, very drinkable. Really good maibock!
