COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This limited-edition winter brew will make its debut in October, but this winter celebration ale is worth the wait. Malted barley and chocolate tones define the traditional style, while the robust aroma and long, mellow finish will make this the perfect companion for your holiday adventures.

Bottle 330ml (Stockmann Tallinn, brewed? 09/2013)
Clear copper color, small off-white head. Ryeish, grainy aroma. Medium-bodied. Caramel, ryeish maltyness, crisp with some spicey hoppyness. Short aftertaste. Simple and clean, no faults as such, not very interesting.

Doesn’t have much of an aroma, appearance is clear dark amber with khaki head. Taste is caramel and malty with a smooth finish.

Worth trying if the price isn’t ridiculous. I enjoyed it but I probably would try a different einstok before I bought the doppel again.

Bottle had on tube in a pissed state thanks to Eddy. It’s quite roasty and burnt but drinks very easily. Kind of like a dark lager

Bottle from The Beerhive. Clear amber body with a thin off-white head that quickly fades. No visible carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of nuts, metal and caramel. Flavour of lightly roasted malt, honey, stewed tea and a slightly sour (but not unpleasant) metallic tang. Faint spice. Medium body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Nice fizz. Quite sweet. My first Doppelbock, quite nice too.

Not the average Doppelbock. This one is a bit thinner, hoppier and spicy. No bells and whistles, still worth the effort. A fair new view on the style.

jinroh (339) - ESTONIA - FEB 16, 2014
Pours nicely reddish-amber, quite clear with a small and steady head. Aroma has some caramel, a bit of alcohol bite. Aroma is somewhat sticky, reminding a fruity Belgian red ale. Taste - softly sharp. You can feel some mild and subtle fruit notes but at the same time hop bitterness is quite high, alcohol biting as well. Caramel and bitter herb candy. Aftertaste is also slightly bitter, lasts for a while, burning your tongue. Tried to pair this with pork, worked quite OK.

laiti (5630) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 8, 2014
33 cl bottle @ home. Bottled 03.09.2013, BBE 04.11.2014
Aroma is musty with berries, some malty tones and bread. Flavour is rather sweet and malty with bread, some toasted caramel and sugar. Too sweet.
