COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This limited-edition winter brew will make its debut in October, but this winter celebration ale is worth the wait. Malted barley and chocolate tones define the traditional style, while the robust aroma and long, mellow finish will make this the perfect companion for your holiday adventures.

Shitty strong lager aroma, just what the tramps like. Wallpaper paste, quite a few esters, but some acetone-like aspects too. Tastes just as bad. Horror. Sticky sweet malts, booze coming off. Smooth palate, decent carbonation. Dirty esters, chemical and harsh. Sweet and rough. Nope, do not want.

Bottle. Colour...clear amber with a thick off white head. Nose...roasty, malty and sweet. Palate...dry for a doppelbock, but that’s ok as most doppelbocks are too sweet for me! There’s honey and honey malt with heather and light spice. A decent effort!

Apparence - Robe ambrée, tres faible carbo, petit collet cremeux fuyant, belle dentelle. Aromes - Malt torrefié, caramel et houblon folral. Gout - Le caramel et le sucre roux enveloppe la bouche, un final sur une amertume prononcée mais courte. Palais - Attaque douce sur le sucre, final relativement sec.

Clear red-ish amber, small white head. Nose is malts, caramel, wood. Taste is malty, caramel sweetness, fruity tones, toasty notes. Sugary finish with boozy bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. A pretty nice bock.

Pours dark amber, big spice and yeast on the nose. Fruity and malty on the palate. Quite subtle flavours of plum and dates. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. I like the tranquil colour scheme they used on the label. Copper body, medium beige head. Aroma has berries, jam, chocolate, light toast. Sweet and syrupy palate. Taste has bread, berries, light caramel. Has good flavours but in general it’s not very complex. Finish is too sugary - needs more bitterness or sharpness to balance it.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a nice clear golden orange with a nice fluffy beige head. Aroma of malt, bread, and caramel. Taste is similar. Decent enough. Appearance is outstanding.

Bottle from Vinbudin in Reykjanesbaer (BB Nov 2014). Head is initially small, frothy, off-white to light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is dark amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, molasses, bread). Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation. Mild, simple aroma, but pleasant and clean. Quite balanced and drinkable for the style, but of course it’s more of a dunkler bock at only 6.7%. Decent.

DYCSoccer17 (3283) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 12, 2013
12 ounce bottle purchased at BevMo in Natomas, CA. The aroma is quite sweet with a fair amount of toffee and residual sugars. Scant underlying toast, and a pinch of grassiness from the hops. Transparent copper-orange body present with a creamy, pretty large whitish head present. Rather pale for a doppelbock. Starts with more sweet toffee and light caramel flavors. Some melanoidins also appear towards the middle. Finishes with moderate buttery diacetyl, and not much else.
