COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This limited-edition winter brew will make its debut in October, but this winter celebration ale is worth the wait. Malted barley and chocolate tones define the traditional style, while the robust aroma and long, mellow finish will make this the perfect companion for your holiday adventures.

Flaske. Klar ,karamellfarget.lavt karbonert med skumtopp som forsvinner raskt. Smaker brent sukker, karamell og brųd. Ganske mye sųdme. Ikke veldig spennende ,men fornųyelig

DATE TASTED: December 17, 2015 ... GLASSWARE: Schnieder Edel-Weisse pokal... OCCASION: watching the Cavs, but already celebrating the kitchen victory--barbecue and beer/beef/potato turnovers, laced with the doppelbock I am currently rating, for tomorrow’s holiday luncheon.. APPEARANCE: beautiful copper brown body that allows some daylight through; head is off-white, clinging in banking clouds; base stays at a strong half-finger... AROMA: caramel malts front and center, with deep chocolate overtones...malts are slightly toasted as well, with some toffee and sweetness... PALATE: medium to full-bodied, demonstratively weighty at the throat and warming at the tongue; average carbonation; creamy with a reasonable finish... TASTE: as the scent suggests, chocolate and toasted malts akin to caramel, making for a winter warmer of a different persuasion than the usual uber-brown or extra-alcoholic ale; chocolate at the finish as well--a singular, effective profile... OVERALL: the beer I took to Tom’s beer fest was confirmed as a find by a friend who visited Iceland and sang its praises...this beer is a great winter companion (fantastic label, too), with strength and a flavor profile that compliments a relaxing night...

bock tüüpi ülle kohta üllatavalt maitsev, mitte liiga pealetükkiv, tummine, mõnus

12 FL OZ ($10 6 pack) this was pretty decent . I’m a fan of doppelbocks so I knew what I was getting into. very well rounded and looked as good as it tasted. good selection of hops here.

Butelka: Clear, ruby-amber coloured, stable off-white foamy layer with a little lace; relatively mild sweet-caramelly nose, some nutty traces underneath; simple sweet flavour, distinctive bitterness barely detectable; short mild sweet-bitter finish. A very tame Double-Bock, yawn…

330 ml bottle. Deep amber body with a big, lacing tan head. Aroma has caramel malt, bread, toast and dry fruit. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, toast and pleasant bitterness. Fine and balanced body with a sweet and slightly bitter aftertaste. A pretty solid bock, even if I’m not too found in this beer style.

from Bier-Bienne - clear ruby-brown beer under a persistent beige foam; nice lace; solid aroma of caramel and flowers; sweet, full-bodied, quite heavy; the finish is herbaceous with more notes of caramel and flowers; mineral - not convincing

Pours dark auburn like cherry cola. Very little head. Sweet fruitcake and brandy aroma. Very ordinary feel but an alcoholic kick and tang after the sweet orange peel and grapefruit taste. Tasty but a bit plain for a doppelbock.
