This limited-edition winter brew will make its debut in October, but this winter celebration ale is worth the wait. Malted barley and chocolate tones define the traditional style, while the robust aroma and long, mellow finish will make this the perfect companion for your holiday adventures.

Butelka: Clear, ruby-amber coloured, stable off-white foamy layer with a little lace; relatively mild sweet-caramelly nose, some nutty traces underneath; simple sweet flavour, distinctive bitterness barely detectable; short mild sweet-bitter finish. A very tame Double-Bock, yawn…

330 ml bottle. Deep amber body with a big, lacing tan head. Aroma has caramel malt, bread, toast and dry fruit. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, toast and pleasant bitterness. Fine and balanced body with a sweet and slightly bitter aftertaste. A pretty solid bock, even if I’m not too found in this beer style.

from Bier-Bienne - clear ruby-brown beer under a persistent beige foam; nice lace; solid aroma of caramel and flowers; sweet, full-bodied, quite heavy; the finish is herbaceous with more notes of caramel and flowers; mineral - not convincing

Pours dark auburn like cherry cola. Very little head. Sweet fruitcake and brandy aroma. Very ordinary feel but an alcoholic kick and tang after the sweet orange peel and grapefruit taste. Tasty but a bit plain for a doppelbock.

Clear dark copper, thick offwhite froth. Bready, malty aroma, some caramel. Similar flavour plus dark sugar and notes of dried fruit and roast. Finish has hints of glue, otherwise a little light beneath all the caramel. Ok.

clear brown liquid with tan head. Aroma of bread, caramel, silo. Taste of bread and caramel, heavy cloying sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour. Palate: medium body, sticky, soft carbonation, long bready finish,

330 ml. pours clear and deep copper with a thin disc of foam. Mild nose of toffee, toasted pecan and earthy-spiced dry grass. Flavors of the same stuff, but seems a little bolder than the nose. Also has some mineral notes and a touch of dry cocoa. Medium body is a little too fizzy for me, but has a nice balance.
