This limited-edition winter brew will make its debut in October, but this winter celebration ale is worth the wait. Malted barley and chocolate tones define the traditional style, while the robust aroma and long, mellow finish will make this the perfect companion for your holiday adventures.

allmyvinyl (3717) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - NOV 8, 2013
Bottle from Appellation Wines - Cheers Ash! Essentially a malt-bomb. Pale for the style, clear copper pour. Aromas are just toffee malt, sweet on the taste, sweet on the finish, a bit sticky. OK.

Brown with a tan head. Great malty aroma. Big malt flavors with just a bit of dark fruit. Seems boozy for only being 6.7%. This is very well crafted, although should perhaps be marketed as a standard bock.

13 oct 2013, bottle. Light brown, clear, some bubbles. Nose is bready yeast and faint nail polish and cherries. Thin body and mildly fizzy. Bready malt, sweet, some alcohol. This is a really good doppelbock. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours clear copper with a slight beige/tan head. Aroma of light stone fruits and caramel. Med body. Flavor is roasty malt with some light fruit. It has a hop profile reminiscent of Morland’s Tanner’s Jack. Tho the malt is way roastier. Cute label. Nice flavor.

Bottle at Home from utobeer borough market. Aroma is prunes and sweet cara malt and feet. Dark amber copper colour with a shortish dense cream head. Flavour is sweet nutty caramel with plenty of fruity esters. A touch cloying. Touch of roast in the finish. Semi dry finish. Some warming alcohol presence. First Icelandic tick!

Not my favorite. Othersd enjoyed it. Dark amber pour. Pleasant aroma of caramel. Taste is sweet and overly bitter astringent.

12oz bottle from ABC on Betton. Amber Brown pour with thin light tan head. Aroma is candy brown sugar, cocoa, bread. Tastes are same with toffee, floral, mineral. Liked it better than that description would indicate. Everything is in its place and not too sweet - which is my bogey.

PorterPounder (5607) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JUN 6, 2013
Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine and Spirits - 11.2 oz bottle. Dark copper pour, medium thick off-white pour with a fair bit of lacing. Aroma has some toffee accents, some molasses, a hint of caramel. Flavor is full bodied and bold with some caramel. some hints of chocolate, a touch of molasses, and a back end of nuttiness. Mouthfeel is thick and sticky. Nice belly-warmer - even though it is early summer!
