COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This limited-edition winter brew will make its debut in October, but this winter celebration ale is worth the wait. Malted barley and chocolate tones define the traditional style, while the robust aroma and long, mellow finish will make this the perfect companion for your holiday adventures.

Wischylini (230) - Grimstad, NORWAY - OCT 18, 2015
Appearance Pours a crystal clear reddish brown, with a small offwhite head that leaves some lacing
Aroma The flavours are incredibly malty, with notes of roasted bread, butterscotch, burnt sugar, and dried fruits.
Taste Very sweet, with a suitably bitter finish that rounds off the sweetness perfectly.
Palate The mouthfeel is pleasantly light, and a lot lighter than I expected from a beer this malty, but still assertively full-bodied. The carbonation is medium, and the aftertaste is long with notes of roasted malts and liquorice.
Overall This is by far the maltiest beer I’ve had of any style, and I have to say I’m impressed. A very well balanced beer.

After trying some of Einstok’s brews, it was quite a treat to try a decent holiday brew for Christmas. It runs amber with some tastes of fruits and caramel :) It’s a bit more fizzy than their other brews running more towards the bitter side :)

Drank from a liter stein poured from a twelve ounce bottle (I didn’t have any other glasses). Nice slightly chocolately aroma with a wonderful aroma of lightly roasted malts. Pours a nice mahogany color with slightly off white head. An amazing doppelbock!

bock tüüpi ülle kohta üllatavalt maitsev, mitte liiga pealetükkiv, tummine, mõnus

Bottle at home in London. Pours clear, red-brown with a staunch, off-white foam head. Some dark, slightly fermented grapes and other fruits in the nose, hints of chocolate and caramel. Big sweet flavor (unsurprisingly) with a strong punch of toffee, candied fruits, caramel, rich and toasty bread, raisins. Medium to full in body with average carbonation. Mild warmth to finish with lots of toasty sugar, jammy fruits, raisins, prunes, caramel and toffee, bread, touches of booze, cake, light earthy hops, faint cocoa and light orange. Very solid doppelbock. Drinks quite well for the ABV with a very nice complexity of character.

Bottle. Who would have thought that this imressive example of one of my favourite styles would come from Iceland? Slightly sweet with a lingering quite sharp aftertaste. Left no lacing but certainly impressed me.
