American and Bavarian craft come together with the finest Icelandic water to create the Viking version of the Pale Ale, where robust hoppiness meets smooth malty undertones. Cascade hops give it the American character, while Northern Brewer hops add just enough bitterness to make this Ale refreshingly Icelandic.

330ml bottle from First Edition, Kilmarnock. My first ever Icelandic beer and not one to leave a lasting impression though not too bad. Tastes more like a decent lager than a pale ale.

bottle @ Grassroots Natural Market / Jacksonville FL --- Hazy, dark amber with a 2" rocky off-white head, mottled wall of lace. Taste is malt with light caramel that adds mild citrus hops on the swallow to share the ride through the finish. At the back end, malt sweetness prevails. A standard Pale Ale, but pretty well done.

Amber colour, thick yellowish head, Aroma malt caramel, Lightliy sweet, refreshing, creamy texture. Nice, but not a pale ale as claimed by the brewery, could be rather a German amber ale.

Best before May 20, 2015.
Glass: Duvel tulip.
Appearance: Hazy amber body, rusty looking, with a persistent light tan head.
Aroma: The aroma is vegetal, very tea like with hints of citrus. Malts come off a bit stale. This smells pretty old but it’s still within freshness.
Taste: Tastes a little better than the aroma. A bit stale tasting, a tad earthy/woody, tea like hop presence is huge and lingers.
Palate: Medium bodied, slightly creamy.
Overall: I dunno if distance or age, but this just isn’t very good. It’s not offensive, just tastes stale and boring.
