American and Bavarian craft come together with the finest Icelandic water to create the Viking version of the Pale Ale, where robust hoppiness meets smooth malty undertones. Cascade hops give it the American character, while Northern Brewer hops add just enough bitterness to make this Ale refreshingly Icelandic.

33 cl. bottle poured in to a Tulip. Hazy, amber colour with a golden tint. Thin, off-white head. Fruity aroma with citrus, floral hops, peach and light resins. Caramel malts. Taste is bitter. Medium body with an average carbonation. Finishes dry and fruity with citrus, peach and a toasted malts note. Pleasant, but not that exciting.

I think this is my first beer from Iceland, so there’s that. This smelled a little on the fruity side, with some caramel and pine. Taste was fairly malt forward, with grassy hops in the background.

330 ml bottle. Cloudy golden color with a small creamy beige head. Bready malt nose. Light hoppy mid taste. Smooth malty finish. Just average.

Bottle. Pours a light amber body with a medium, short-lived white head. Nose is red fruits, white sugar, mild wine gum and hints of wet grass. Taste is caramel, honey, grass, red fruits and hints of herbs and metal. Light to medium body, medium to soft carbonation. Hard to determine the brewing date on this one, but it seems a bit old, actually - slightly oxidized and faded in both taste and aroma. As it is now, it’s not very impressive, but not exactly horrible either.

20.11.2014, 0,33l bottle @ home:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet grainy, cereal, wet hay, wet grain, leafs, citrus, paper, worht, wet grass. Taste is slightly dry and harsh, paper, harsh hay, cereal, old leafs, minerals, wet grass, bark, citrus. Medium bitterness, slightly harsh and metallic mouthfeel, high carbonation. Boring.

Bottle. Perhaps something happened in the batch on this one, but I was getting a lot of skunked veggies in the finish, which destroyed everything else. One to revisit perhaps, but have no choice but to pan it now... Ugh.

Poured reddish brown with a small white head. Aroma is predominately caramel/toast with some hints of floral/citrus. Taste is bittersweet with an emphasis on sweet. Medium bodied with a thick texture.

A red-gold colour makes this look an appealing beer, so combined with a good strong hoppy aroma it’s already a winner. Taste is exactly as described, a nice refreshing IPA style flavour with a bit of bitterness to give it an edge, definitely recommended.

11.2 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Pours copper, clear small head and minimal spotty head. Aroma of caramel, malts and fruit. Medium sweetness, balanced hoppiness, some grain. Very drinkable, quite enjoyable; very decent beer.

Like a lot of other Icelandic beers I was impressed. It’s a good beer for any occasion.
