American and Bavarian craft come together with the finest Icelandic water to create the Viking version of the Pale Ale, where robust hoppiness meets smooth malty undertones. Cascade hops give it the American character, while Northern Brewer hops add just enough bitterness to make this Ale refreshingly Icelandic.

From Saveur-Biere. In Teku glass. At dinner, after futsal match. With sausages sandwich. Not bad, but without much taste nor aroma. Pleasant feeling still and very drinkable

Boring pale ale. Nothing interesting to speak of in any regard. Best thing going for it is it isn’t terrible.

Aus der Flasche getrunken (Händlerlieferung). Sattes Dunkelgelb mit enormer Schaumkrone. Gut ausbalancierter Körper, fast ein herbes IPA.

33cl Flasche. Klares orangendarbenes Bier, hellbeiger Schaum. Es riecht nach Karamell und etwas Hopfen. Antrunk sehr getreidig und trocken. Herber Mittelteil. Der Hopfen geht leider unter. Von dem Bier bin ich etwas enttäuscht. Zu wenig Kannte.

On tap at Olstofa pours a mostly clear caramel brown with some lacing white head. Nose is not real great, crystal malts, corn, heavy buttered brown bread, toffee. Flavor follows, grist and caramel, some butterscotch, toffee, yeast. Finishes sweet. Not good.

330 ml bottle into pint glass, bottled on 3/31/2016. Pours slightly hazy orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, pine, caramel, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/earthy hops and dark/bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, pine, caramel, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus peel/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange peel. pepper, pine. toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.6%. Overall this is a very good American pale ale. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

appearance: clear golden brown, with a finger of creamy light tan head and good lacing circles. aroma: toasted brown bread and nuts, hint of honey, with earth, herbal hops. taste: sweet caramel, toast and nuts, herbal hops, hint of marmalade, floral and grapefruit hops. finish: toasty biscuit and dry, slightly piney hops. notes: I remember drinking this and thinking "Man, this is much more of a traditional bitter than a pale ale." Bottle from the Rare Beer Club.

Bottle. Toffee malt and hay aroma. Golden yellow with large off-white head. Mildly sweet toffee malt and mildly bitter herbal hay flavor. Nice body - moderate carbonation. Okay.
