COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
American and Bavarian craft come together with the finest Icelandic water to create the Viking version of the Pale Ale, where robust hoppiness meets smooth malty undertones. Cascade hops give it the American character, while Northern Brewer hops add just enough bitterness to make this Ale refreshingly Icelandic.

Poured a half finger of head on a medium amber colored body. The aroma is caramel and honey. Pleasant. The taste starts out with mild bitterness, moves to chalky bitterness and finishes sour. A bit disjointed. The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation. A descent pale ale.

12oz bottle - Quite the surprise with this Icelandic brewery. Their take on an America pale ale is quite tasty. They definitely get the hop-forward aspect of this style, although the dark/chocolate malt seems a little out of place. A fruity aroma, showing notes of grapefruit, lemon zest, fresh bread and light caramel. Flavor brings a sweet bready flavor supported by some lemon/citrus hops, a bit of wet leaves, and leaves a yeasty/bready finish. A bit over-priced, but it’s to be expected since the beer’s journey started in a pretty remote location.

Bottle. Pours deep golden with an off-white head. Aroma of malt, some fruitiness, citrus, grains and yeast. Flavor is sweet and malty with some fruitiness, some citrus and grains. Medium body, average carbonation.

Bottle. A clear, dark golden beer with a small, dense, light beige head. Weak, malty aroma with grass, pine cone notes and some resins. Grass, hay, pale malts and spent grains in the flavor. Some bitterness. Medium body and a soft carbonation level. Short malty finish with caramel and grass. Superbly boring this one, not very pale ale-ish either. 141018

Bottle from Toft Vin, Copenhagen - (my first Icelandic rate) amber pour with white head. Aroma and taste is fruity and malty, pretty grassy hoppy and light floral, medium bitter finish. Ok.

Bottle from Whole foods Plymouth. Pours hazy orange with 1-finger off-white head. Nose is resiny hops, orange marmaladey fruit. Tastes piney and hoppy but a bit syrupy, with a slightly cloying finish. A bit under-attenuated. Gets drier and more bitter as it warms.

Definitely should be listed as an English pale as there isn’t enough presence from the cascade to even come close to an American. Pours a clear copper with a small off white head. Aroma is malty caramel sweetness with some earthy and grassy hops. Taste is much of the same with a nice balance bit definitely malt forward... Good beer.

Bottle at Woody’s in Kingston. Lightly sweet, malty, some caramel. Lightly hopped. Pleasant and well-balanced but not too interesting.

Light malty, very light caramel, light hops. Cant call this APA. Light sweet with light bitterness.. all is dull and boring. Drinkable for try, but onetimer for price/performance

Viegls, neizteiksmīgs pale ale, tad es labāk pļumpēju aldari 4x lētāk. Etiķete maldinoša. Karamele aromata mīīīnimali.
