COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
American and Bavarian craft come together with the finest Icelandic water to create the Viking version of the Pale Ale, where robust hoppiness meets smooth malty undertones. Cascade hops give it the American character, while Northern Brewer hops add just enough bitterness to make this Ale refreshingly Icelandic.

Bottle from Myvatn natural baths, Iceland. Pours a true clear amberWith an of white head which is moderately laying and leaves some blobs of lacing. Aroma is maltiness, subtle spice, soap and perhaps some caramel. Not really any hops. Taste is quite bland which is a little disappointing. Malty sweetness with a fairly mild bitterness. Moderate carbonation and a weak to moderate body.

Bottle. Pours clean, light copper in colour with a white head. Aroma is malty with a hint of hops (the bottle might have been not fresh). Taste is clean, malty with a medium bitter finish. Quite an ordinary pale ale, could be more hoppy in aroma and flavour.

This beer does what it says on the tin .. err.. bottle. It combines hoppiness (which sounds like "happiness") with great well balanced malty notes. It seems that craft beer tends to level any historic or traditional bonus that brewers may have. I certainly take my hat off for this good beer.
