American and Bavarian craft come together with the finest Icelandic water to create the Viking version of the Pale Ale, where robust hoppiness meets smooth malty undertones. Cascade hops give it the American character, while Northern Brewer hops add just enough bitterness to make this Ale refreshingly Icelandic.

Golden, white foam, malty caramel, candy aroma. Malt, caramel candy in flavour. with mild bitter aftertaste, that lasts, and grows. Good beer

Crisp golden coloured body with the slightest hazy glow and a nice, single centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of light fruit, earth, nuts and a bit of subdued mildly low alpha acid hops. Light-bodied; Assertive grassy flavour at first with a lot of malt, some lighter sweetness from honey and fruits and a mild metallic flavour that shows up at the end. Aftertaste shows some grass, a lot of metallic bitterness and some earth - no real hops to speak of. Overall, a decent beer at best - this wasn’t showing much hops and the other flavours are mild at best. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Bowery), New York on 28-May-2016 for US$2,99 sampled in my hotel room in Lower Manhattan on 29-May-2016.

Very malty and yeasty aroma. I smell dough and bread. Lovely golden colour with a pretty small and frothy head. It tastes very bland unfortunately. Some bitterness and maltyness, but not very interesting. Feels thin, average carbonation. Very short. Boring.

Very pleasing sessionable pale ale. Good hoppy nose upon drinking. Head is wispy and a little thin, but pleasant to drink without thinking too much about it. A solid middle of the road pale ale that is enjoyable.

Golden, clear. Nice thick head, some lacing. Aroma: herbal, grassy, dried fruits, some malt/bread. Not very strong, but pleasant. Taste: somewhat malty, but bitterness overtakes the maltiness. Very pleasantly/softly bitter finish. Palate: medium body, not too much carboantion. Very palatable. Overall a great and very drinkable pale ale. Extremely drinkable.

A golden ale with a thick off white head. In aroma, biscuit malt with grassy British hops, light mineral notes, OK. In mouth, a crisp biscuit malt with grassy British hops, light mineral notes, light treacle, OK. Bottle at Fish and More, Reykjavik.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Wijnzinnig, Gendt. Clear dark golden with a white head. Malty aroma. Bittersweet taste. Good malt body but the hops are seriously lacking. Maybe an old bottle but this one was only remarkable for the country it came from.

Light amber beer with a thick billowing off white head. Fairly weak nose of pine resin, citrus, and slightly sour yeast, but you have to hunt for it. Flavor is stronger with some mild cereal grain sweetness overlaid with slightly fruity hops leading to a relaxed soapy bitterness. Pleasant enough, but not long on flavor.

33cl Bottle from REWE Stenten. Almost forgot to rate this.. Slightly hazy golden amber colour, white head. Aroma of light floral malts, light citrusy hops, very English in malt and yeast profile imho. Flavour is likewise, malty, some caramel, light floral, light citrusy, light bitter finish. Light bodied. OK-ish.

DraftDodger (888) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 9, 2016
Copenhagen 8/5 2016. 33 cl bottle from Mad & Vin. Enstöks grim Viking on the label. Pours clear golden yellow with white head. Moderate lacing. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of foam. Aroma is not particulary strong. Exotic fruit and citrus. But quite subdued. Medium carbonation and watery palate. Flavor is pleasant enough but a bit diluted and watery. Well balanced between between discrete malty sweetness and light bitterness. Nice but a bit too bland to be truly good.
