COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
American and Bavarian craft come together with the finest Icelandic water to create the Viking version of the Pale Ale, where robust hoppiness meets smooth malty undertones. Cascade hops give it the American character, while Northern Brewer hops add just enough bitterness to make this Ale refreshingly Icelandic.

Bottle, thanks to omhper. Golden beer, offwhite head. Malty aroma, ŕ bit strange. Hoppy earthy flavor, malty and with some fruits.

Bottle, 33cl - Clear orange copper beer with a frothy white head. Aroma is malty with notes of citrus, toast, caramel and nettles. Flavor is malty with notes of citrus, caramel and toast. Refreshing for sure, but nothing spectacular.

330ml bottle. Clear amber colour with average frothy stable off-white head. Decent grassy hop aroma on neutral malty (i.e. not sweet) background. Dry hoppy taste, slightly metallic or snowy, grassy, later almost soapy. Not bad, but not really rousing.

DruncanVeasey (5150) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAY 11, 2012
330ml bottle. Shining amber with a flat white head. Nose-wrinkling, outrageously perfumed aroma with notes of...erm, rose-infused Madeira cake, sherbet, Shepherd Neame and Turkish Delight over chunky, cakey, wholemeal bread-like malt sturdiness. Tastes like flying saucers; fruity, perfumed, a bit papery. But in no way unattractive. Some peachy, digestive-based sweetness belonging to a certain kind of US IPA; Shepherd Neame thickened, and amplified. Chalky. As First Icelandic Beers Ever go, impressive.

Bottled 28/04/12. A ginger copper coloured beer with an off-white pool of head. A decent but fairly resrained hop aroma with sweetish malts. It’s the same in the mouth. Very palateable and nicely balanced, albeit a little pedestrian.

Pours a clear golden brown, minimal head that does stay for long, no lacing. You get the American hops, but maybe not as fully as in other ales, caramel and bready malts. Tastes better when it’s warmed up a bit and sipped slowly, there are some good flavours but they take a bit of time to come out.

Bottle from Booths, Windermere. Pours a clear auburn with no head but tastes like a much darker ale: rich and spicy with sultanas. The long, bittersweet finish is well balanced. Fruity, citric, zesty aroma with darker, fruit cake notes. Slightly fizzy, almost rough mouthfeel detracts a little from the flavours. Still, this is no bad way to chalk another country off my list.

bottle, Booths, Penrith. Looks nice, good amber colour. Aroma is caramel, with trace hop. Some metallic notes, decent fizz on the tongue and a sharp finish. Inoffensive, drinkable, not much else.

Bottle at home in London. Pours clear gold with a medium, frothy white foam head. Pleasant aroma, has some lightly toasted bread and grass, some light citrus, lemon zest. Light to medium sweet flavor, mostly bready, light toast, metal, dirt, grass, mild earth, some citrus rind. Light to medium in body with average carbonation. Crisp finish with some carbonation and metallic bite, light bread, mildly tangy citrus, orange, grapefruit, light grassy bitterness. An OK APA. Not outstanding, just OK.
