American and Bavarian craft come together with the finest Icelandic water to create the Viking version of the Pale Ale, where robust hoppiness meets smooth malty undertones. Cascade hops give it the American character, while Northern Brewer hops add just enough bitterness to make this Ale refreshingly Icelandic.

Pours a clear, dark gold with a moderate white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of biscuits. Tastes somewhat Germanic. Actually, tastes more like a strong pilsner than a pale ale. Good carbonation. Decently bitter. Overall, a decent ale that is an interesting marriage of a German pilsner and an American IPA.

My first Icelandic beer and I am quite enjoying it. It has a crisp dryness that is unusual for a pale ale. It has the sort of feel that you could drink this all day and still enjoy it. Nothing overly complex, but very drinkable.

Pours amber with a large, frothy white head which remains for a while. Aroma is spruce, pine and herbs. Taste is hop bitter, caramel, spruce and malt biscuits.

From the bottle at Stansted Airport. Grassy hop aroma and a decent enough bitterness.

Pours a burnt orange. Not much hop aroma mainly some malt hints. Taste is well balanced with a grassy piney hop finish. Solid pale ale but nothing extraordinary.

Orange clear beer with off white head. Aroma has resin, grapefruit, orange and tropical fruits. Flavor has grapefruit and other fruitiness. Palate is slightly thinner than medium and foamy. Finish has quite strong bitterness. Aftertaste has grapefruit and caramel. Decent crisp pale ale, good mouthfeel.

Bottle 0,33. Light bready, caramel aroma. Hoppy, sour, a bit sweet. Light bitterness in aftertaste. Refreshing.

Light, somewhat dry. Earthy, a little hoppy. Very smooth and drinkable, but not a standout for the style.

Pretty ordinary beer, like a hybrid of an English pale ale and a lager, coming from the Hallertau hops. Drinkable but nothing special.

Blonde body with a decent head. Sweetly grainy nose, maybe a touch of rye and then doused with bubblegum. The body is sugary, candi malt, and bubblegum.
