With clear notes of espresso, dark chocolate and a hint of authentic Icelandic coffee, this Porter is dark and rich, offering a medium body that is robust, yet smooth on the palate and easy to drink. There’s no need to be afraid of the dark anymore.

My first Icelandic beer. Very good. Amazing taste and nice fine looks. Totally black and crafty.

Bottle from Myvatn Nature Baths, Iceland. Pours black with a thin tan head that fades extremely quickly. Aroma is roasted malts, vanilla, dark chocolate and strong coffee. Flavour is moderate sweetness but a low bitterness. Surprisingly carbonated and thin bodied. Most of the darker beers in Iceland seem to over load on the malt. This on manages to balance it nicely.

Aroma of wet barnyard hay and coffee, chocolate. Taste is nice and bitter like a German Schwarz bier, not sweet like some of the porters. Nice roasted grain flavor with elements of dark chocolate and pilsner malt and smoke. Finishing with a light sweetness. Barnyard kills it.

Vanilla nut aroma. Creamy almost. Tan head and black color. God damn, This tastes amazing. Tastes like it smells. Creamy vanilla and nut but very balanced. I wanna have this after dinner. This is a dessert in its self. Love it.

Nice roasty aroma, faint black with a small head. Incredibly thin bodied with a watery metal finish. Very overrated

Aroma: roasted and toasted malt; a little smoky.
Flavor: Really dark caramel malt; burnt sugar, burnt raisin. Roasted flavor--but it’s less prominent than in the aroma. Brown sugar aftertaste. Subtle fruity flavor; not sure if it’s from yeast or hops.

Bottle, chilled. Not a great deal going on in the taste. Barley, a little sweet and yeasty.

33cl bottle. Dark brown color with a small tan head. Roasted malt in the aroma with notes of chocolate and some coffee. Flavor is a bit sweet with roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, some caramel and smoke. Smooth and medium bodied, quite dry finish. Very tasty.
