With clear notes of espresso, dark chocolate and a hint of authentic Icelandic coffee, this Porter is dark and rich, offering a medium body that is robust, yet smooth on the palate and easy to drink. There’s no need to be afraid of the dark anymore.

Bottle. Pours dark with light brown head. Aromas of coffee immediately. Clear notes of coffee, toffee, and chocolate, nutty and smooooth. Really great and easy drinking porter, perhaps easy to forget it’s alcohol so use caution (ha ha ha). Keeps you warm in winter, expertly done, excellent brew.

Poured into a Geordie Schooner glass. Near black pour with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malt with some chocolate. Flavor is really roasty with coffee and chocolate notes. Medium bodied with a slightly oily mouthfeel. Not super complex but nicely flavored.

Bottle. In aroma mostly notes of coffee and chocolate. There are also some milky notes. The colour is dark brown. The, beige head is small and unstable - fast dissapeared. In taste is quiet full. Dominates coffee and chocolate.

33cl bb? (DE import label...), Maruhn. - Appealing hot cocoa brown pour with vanilla foam. Smell is mild, a machine café viennois using Nesquick and skimmed milk, with a touch of coffee bean. Decent amounts of milk chocolate and toasted malts in aroma, some overlap with their Doppelbock cover version there: caramels, light-mid full mouthfeel. Easy, clean drinking but not creating an immediate appetite for more.

It’s a pitch black beer, with big, quite stable, beige head and great lacing. In aroma it’s malty sweet with toasted bread notes in the back end. It’s also a bit winny and fruity with a notes of fresh cherry. For a 14,5 plate it has great body, almost full one. It’s perfectly low carbonated as well. In opposition to the aroma, taste it’s way more dry, has almost no sweetness at all. Nice roasted and toasted notes, a bit of coffee, nice bitterness in the aftertaste. It’s very good, solid beer. Worth to try.

Einstok’s roasted not Toasted Porter has many qualities of a cold weather favorite. Chocolate malts, light bitterness and coffee flavors construct a solid beer. Session-ish @ 6% ABV.
