COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With clear notes of espresso, dark chocolate and a hint of authentic Icelandic coffee, this Porter is dark and rich, offering a medium body that is robust, yet smooth on the palate and easy to drink. There’s no need to be afraid of the dark anymore.

Rated based on notes taken on 27 Dec 2014 -- From the bottle. If this was fresh I could assume this is great, as it is it’s metallic and unsavory. It has the qualities of a great porter.

Pitch black with a beige head. The aroma contains some strong coffee, dark fruit, chocolate, and licorice. The flavor is rather dry and bitter like my sense of humor. Very similar to a dry stout but more of malty backbone. The toasted element shows in the aftertaste. Overall very nice porter.

Surprisingly hoppy aroma. Good dark colour. Mildly toasted, but not overwhelming. Really quite drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Moderate toasted, strong coffee, and dark chcocolate, light resin for the malt, light to moderate earth for the yeast, with notes of charcoal, cola and cocoa powder. Head is small, fizzy, light brown with fair lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is clear very dark brown. Flavor starts lightly acidic and tart, then finishes lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter and a bit salty. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, silky, with a carbonation from soft to lively. Toasty aromas, bitey flavors and a diverse palate makes this a tasty Porter.

It works very well. Chocolate, with liquorice, vanilla; no burnt flavours, very clean.
