Bottle from Nina’s Mini Market. Black body with a thin beige head. Light lacing. Aroma of espresso and dark chocolate. Lovely rich flavour of coffee, vanilla, salt and chocolate. Medium body with an oily texture. Average carbonation fizz. A well rounded Porter - much better than their Pale Ale.

330ml bottle (Drink Shop, Tallinn)
Lovely black, tight tan persistent head. Strange aroma, has some quirks, but it’s a good roast. Has more of a baltic porter feel, dark lager rather than ale - brewed at a lower temperature than I’d like. Same in the taste, more of the quirks. Nice roast, touch yeasty. Full palate, smooth carbonation. Just a tiny bit of smokiness in the finish later. Late finish a little bit metallic. Shame about the flaws, this has potential.

Noire opaque, petit collet brun de fines bulles.
Aromes marqués de café et de grain torrefies.
Une presence en bouche bien equilibrée.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: Dark brown with 2 finger thick tan head.
Aroma: Umami with a quality that reminds me of the savoury smell of smoked oysters? smokey, roasted malt.
Taste: Low/medium sweetness, and sourness, low bitterness and slightly salty.
Palate: Thick smooth texture, airy, light texture, average carbonation, lingering savoury, grassy, smoky finish. Again the savoury taste reminds me of oysters, not in a shellfish or fishy way
Comments: Tasty and lace. Strange all in all but tasty enough.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle at home. Pours dark brown, near, black, with a thick light tan head. Bit cold just now, but metallic aromas, coffee and chocolate. Light smoke, could be toast, I guess. Tobacco later. OK, but a bit odd.

Basically just a quality porter. Rich. Dark Chocolate and coffee. Um, not much else to say, just filling in characters because rate beer wants me to.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Didnt much care for this. Aroma is nice and has pretty standard porter/stout smells of coffee, chocolate and toasted grains. Jet black with tan head. Taste is where things go south. There is a distinct metallic taste which for me drowns out all the good tastes. Nice mouthfeel, low carbonation. Didnt care for this especially for 11$ a sixer.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Jane’s Beer Store, Mountain View. Clear very dark brown, pretty much no head or lacing. Toasty, nutty, slightly roasty aroma. Toasty nutty taste - pretty nice. Creamy mouthfeel. Tasty stuff.
