3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Myvatn Nature Baths, Iceland. Pours black with a thin tan head that fades extremely quickly. Aroma is roasted malts, vanilla, dark chocolate and strong coffee. Flavour is moderate sweetness but a low bitterness. Surprisingly carbonated and thin bodied. Most of the darker beers in Iceland seem to over load on the malt. This on manages to balance it nicely.

En klassisk porter med en god portion kaffe og ristede noter. Mild humle hvilket gųr den til en god porter.

11.2 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. The beer is a dark brown color with a beige head of foam. The aroma has roasty coffee notes with a lot of toffee sweetness, but mostly coffee. Medium coffee bitterness, but there is also an underlying sweetness in there as well. As it warms, I get some anise, and some other unknown spices. Medium body and medium carbonation. Pretty good porter.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours black with nice amounts of lacing. Aroma is gentle traces of coffee and roasted malt. This is followed by a well balanced taste, where no flavour dominates. There are good traces of coffee, espresso and some dark chocolate. A dry porter, this was easy to drink and could also serve as a good introduction for those wishing to try porters that are not dominated by high alcohol content.

Bottle from Beltramo’s in Menlo Park, CA. Aroma is roasted malts. Smooth slightly bitter roasted coffee. Very drinkable. A little bit herbal / bitterness in there but ultimately surprised at how good this is (considering the other Einstok beer catalog).

Pleasantly surprised here. Dark brown, almost black, beer with a frothy, brown head. Aromas of molasses and dark chocolate. Taste follows the nose with hints of dark chocolate, mild coffee, molasses, and earthy notes. Semi-sweet lactic finish. Excellent blend of sweet and bitter chocolate flavors. Extremely easy to drink and smooth. Very good.
