COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With clear notes of espresso, dark chocolate and a hint of authentic Icelandic coffee, this Porter is dark and rich, offering a medium body that is robust, yet smooth on the palate and easy to drink. There’s no need to be afraid of the dark anymore.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2013 Bready, yeasty aroma with hints of cereal (think Cheerios) and leather. Clear, dark pour, brownish black, frothy head that dissipates quickly. Medium bodied, sweet molasses and coffee with slightly bitter burnt aftertaste with light grassiness. Overall, rather nice. I got it because it’s from Iceland and I don’t think I’ve ever had an Icelandic beer. Glad I did. Not my favorite, but definitely drinkable.

Bottle. Moderate toasted, strong coffee, and dark chcocolate, light resin for the malt, light to moderate earth for the yeast, with notes of charcoal, cola and cocoa powder. Head is small, fizzy, light brown with fair lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is clear very dark brown. Flavor starts lightly acidic and tart, then finishes lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter and a bit salty. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, silky, with a carbonation from soft to lively. Toasty aromas, bitey flavors and a diverse palate makes this a tasty Porter.

Bottle at home. A pretty standard, but well made, porter. Aroma and flavors of roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, flat cola. Nice smooth mouthfeel. A bit of wood and sweetness on the finish. High drinkability.

330ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Slowly diminishing tan-coloured head to deep ebony, red tinted, coloured body. Dark malty smell, discreet smoked. Fine blended taste of mid-sweet chocolate, salty liquorice, ash and a little smoke. Malt bitterness to the finish. Smooth oily palate. Clean in the mouth. Drinks well (at home, Tromsø 06.12.2014).
