With clear notes of espresso, dark chocolate and a hint of authentic Icelandic coffee, this Porter is dark and rich, offering a medium body that is robust, yet smooth on the palate and easy to drink. There’s no need to be afraid of the dark anymore.

Aroma is slightly malty and toasty with some coffee notes, but doesn’t have a great carry. Appearance is watery but dark with a small off white head. The taste was a bit toasty and malty, but also a little stale and bitter. Coffee taste was present but not overly robust. Palate was thin, but carbonation carries the finish.

Little, to no, aroma. Color certainly qualifies as porter. Light coffee taste, with a full toasted/charred finish. It seems more bitter than toasted.

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.0%. Very dark ruby colour, nearly black. Small tan head. Aroma of coffee, moderately roasted malts and dark chocolate, a hint of dust. Quite dry flavour, distinct notes of coffee (an actual ingredient), hints of dark bitter chocolate. Moderate hops (Cascade, Northern Brewer and Hallertauer Tradition).

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear black with a warm reddish hue and a beige head. Subtle roasted nose - more nutty rather. Medium body, bitter chocolate notes and subtle roast. Everything appears rather mainstream and downplayed as with most Einstök. 011015

Bottle from Alko, Helsinki. Pours black with a medium-sized white head. The aroma features roasty, bready maltiness with coffee and rye pudding. Taste is sweetish, full of chocolate and licorice. Medium roastiness, not very dry, even in the finish. The palate is medium-bodied, creamy in texture, softly carbonated. Fairly rich in taste and displays a nice, velvety palate.

Bottle@home. Medium, soft aroma of dark coffee and chocolate. Deep brown color with medium light beige head. Medium, organic taste of soft coffee, dark chocolate and some roasted malts. Balanced with medium taste spectrum and long aftertaste with roasted malts. Medium palate with light/medium carbonation. Overall great, clear and classy product of this voltage.

330ml bottle courtesy of Chris! Pours into a chalice glass black with mahogany tints, has a creamy tan head. Dry bournville chocolate notes in the short malty aroma. Thin oily mouthfeel and good lacing. Dark malt complex gives a moist maltloaf base laden with notes of black coffee, liquorice, woodsmoke, roasted barley grain. Earthy hop prickle gives a short musty hopped aftertaste. Smooth malty finish with sweet dark chocolate, black coffee and ash in the mouth. A decent porter.
