COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With clear notes of espresso, dark chocolate and a hint of authentic Icelandic coffee, this Porter is dark and rich, offering a medium body that is robust, yet smooth on the palate and easy to drink. There’s no need to be afraid of the dark anymore.

Bottle Dark brown color with a nice beige head that keeps a lacing til the end. Aroma is roasted malt, some hints of coffee. Flavor is bitter toasted malt, some chocolate hint. Mouthfeel is dry rosted malt. Nice porter!

Dark brown color, almost black; small head. The aroma is mild, roasted malt, and a touch of dark chocolate. Dry but smooth mouthfeel; roasted malt flavor, with no excess of ashes; regular bitterness.
Not enough chocolate, it’s more a Stout than a Porter.

Bottle from bamboo door, sheffield. Dark brown with not much head. Aroma is strong coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is coffee and roasted malts. Prickly carbonation, medium body, slightly oily. Good stuff, I’m liking Einstok a lot.

(33 cl bottle from Deveney’s Rathmines, Dublin; BBD: December 20th 2015) Pours black with medium, tan head. Decent retention and lace. Aroma is smoked like burnt hay with notes of salty licorice. Smooth almost creamy on the palate, medium body with soft carbonation and a roasted coffee-bitter finish. Flavour has notes of salt licorice. Good.

Wasn’t typical of a porter, although the roasted malt and toasted flavors came through nicely. Smooth, on the thin side, some chocolate and caramel and slightly sweet but not too much.

Bottle. Almost black with a strong sweet fruitcake aroma. Watery taste lets it down a tad, though I like the smokey cigar finish.

I was looking forward to trying this Toasted Porter. Appearance was a wonderfully satisfying black, though the nose was only a weak combination of roasted malts and caramel. A very different story on the palate which was silky and creamy. There was a clean sourish flavour which finished nicely with robust malts, which thanks to the good carbonation was very easy to drink.

Nice. Visiting my Swedish friends, they sometimes surprise me with rarities. Dark brown, modest head, notes of chocolate and coffee, medium to light bodied, less watery than some coffee porters I’ve had, but still you drink it and think you want a little more body here.
