Beige on black. Tasty malt. By style I’m rather impressed. Def. Worth Importing, though I don’t know what the beer scene is in Iceland. A very solid porter.

Bottle, thanks to Nick. Dark brown pour with a meek tan head. Flavour and nose was roasted malts, smoke, with a little coffee and chocolate. A bit thin. Was hoping for a bit more all round here. Overrated. Next!

Beer of the month club. Pours a cola black with a thin whitish head. Not much of a nose. Taste of bitter coffee. Good.

33cl bottle from the Hogs Back Brewery Shop. An opaque black pour with a billowing light tan head that soon settled pack to a thin film; araoma of toasted grains; sweet and silky in the mouth with an attractive burnt toast taste, and a bitterness from the deeply roasted chocolate malts; leaving a soft toasted oat finish. Rather elegant.

Bottle at the Dolphin Hotel Disney. First Iceland beer for me!! Poured into a large snifter. Very black pour with a thick tan head that lasted about 60 seconds. No lacing. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, toasted and roasted malts, and raisins. The taste included dark chocolate, coffee, raisins, and a mildly bitter finish. Slight hop profile balanced well. Medium to heavy body, light carbonation. Slightly dry finish. Nice porter.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle poured into pint glass. Black - very black. Tan head, which starts towering and frothy, but finishes like an espresso crema. Aromas of dark chocolate, coffee - roasty and toasty. Tastes lovely, burnt caramelly opening, with a soft bitter finish. Thick, slick palate, gentle carbonation, full-on body. Yum!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. Poured light-medium brown with a tall toasted tan head. The aroma picked up sweeter, roasty coffee and generic black malts with cocoa and more coffee around the nose.. overall quite sweet, but I enjoyed it. The flavor found flat cola, vanilla, and tasty coffee at the core.. tangy, greener coffee beans and light oak on the edges.. finished with more coffee and a lot of residual sugars. Light-medium bodied and fairly flat on the palate despite the tall head.. OK feel.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma is slightly malty and toasty with some coffee notes, but doesn’t have a great carry. Appearance is watery but dark with a small off white head. The taste was a bit toasty and malty, but also a little stale and bitter. Coffee taste was present but not overly robust. Palate was thin, but carbonation carries the finish.
