COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With clear notes of espresso, dark chocolate and a hint of authentic Icelandic coffee, this Porter is dark and rich, offering a medium body that is robust, yet smooth on the palate and easy to drink. There’s no need to be afraid of the dark anymore.

The head is brown and robust, the body is black. It smells sweet, chocolate, a bit roasty, creamy. The taste is sweet, a bit roasted toasty, but more darkmalty-strange, a bit chocolate. In the aftertaste a bit roastmalty, bitter. I most like the aftertaste. Drinkable. 13/11/10/10/13/10

Tasted on 1/22/15 from a capped 330mL bottle purchased at Frugal MacDoogal. Pours opaque nearly black with an average tan head that slowly recedes to a thick ring and thin spotty lace. The nose is toasted, some coffee, vanilla, and dark chocolate. The flavor is very dry, more dark chocolate and cocoa nibs, plenty of coffee, with just a hint of the vanilla, and a very pleasant bitterness on the back of the palate. The body is medium plus with lively carbonation and a long roasted coffee and toasted cocoa nib finish.

1/21/15. 12oz (ish) bottle at World of Beer Destin. Very random rating find. Dark brown pour under a small tan head, mild lacing. Nice aroma, obviously foreign stout, if that makes sense - very toasty, minerally, a bit of soy sauce. Very toasty flavor, caramel, biscuity, lightly roasty, very balanced, slightly minerally. Tasty.

Poured from a bottle. Dark brown color, short lived tan head. Tart malt aroma. Medium body with a pepper roasted malt flavor and a medium finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark brown that stops a shade short of black. Head disappears almost immediately. Malty aroma but the taste is a bit of a let down.

Bottle pours brown/black with a thin beige head. Aroma shows chocolate, moderate roast, and green coffee. Flavor is primarily roast with a nice coffee integration. Overall body is moderate and strangely soft with a nice roast bitterness on the finish. If i’m ever in iceland, i think i know what i’ll be drinking.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet.Pours very dark ruby/brown with a small creamy tanned head. Aroma of caramel, toasted malts. Taste is light sweet, dark red fruits with a nice dry liquorice finish. Nice.

330 ml bottle into a tulip. Pours pitch black with just a thin wispy medium tan head. A touch of lacing around the sides of the glass but that’s about it. The one thing I noticed lacking in the aroma is the coffee advertised on the bottle. There is the slightest hint but I was really expecting it to jump out at me. More caramel and dark chocolate than anything. The flavor is also quite light on the coffee but expands on the dark chocolate found in the aroma. There is also a certain nuttiness here that reminds me of chocolate covered almonds. Subtle sweetness and prickly carbonation leads to a slightly sticky finish. Overall, a pretty average porter. My first beer from Iceland it really isn’t bad. I would gladly have another one.

Black color, little foam. The taste has body roast aromas with coffee notes. Tiny bit watery, bit quite solid beer.

Black color with a touch of amber. Toasted malt, espresso, chocolaty, nutty. A bit of bitterness towards the end. Rich taste, but still a light body. Nice.
