COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With clear notes of espresso, dark chocolate and a hint of authentic Icelandic coffee, this Porter is dark and rich, offering a medium body that is robust, yet smooth on the palate and easy to drink. There’s no need to be afraid of the dark anymore.

33cl bottle, bottled 03/2012? Poured almost black with a brown lacing head. Roasty, chocolaty aroma with oat smootness and coffee. Flavor is roasted malty, even more coffee and light sweetness. Finish is drier with chocolate mousse. Creamy, oily, medium body. Great porter, my first from Iceland.

Tasted on June 12, 2013: Awesome aroma of chocolate and coffee. Great look, black in color. Tastes of chocolate, malt and coffee(especially in the finish). A pretty good Porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Kris Wines. Jet black with a slight tan head. Dense, almost savoury aroma of plain chocolate and toasted malts with a touch of leafy hop. Flavour had more chocolate, some dark fruits and a gently dry fniish. Enjoyable.

Call me crazy, but this could potentially be one of the best porters I’ve ever had. Milky chocolates roast over espresso beans during the creamy mid-palate, with body, as the sipping conduces itself while basking in the glory of a long battle. Hopefully this continues to migrate itself this way here in NorCal.

Aroma is fairly weak with notes of chocolate and coffee, perhaps even a touch of clove. Flavour is a gentle roasty notes with the coffee and a hint of chocolate following through. This is a decent porter but not an outstanding one

Poured from a bottle, San Diego. Classic porter aroma, a rich, deep, malty coffee with a hint of alcoholic bite. All told, a rather meek and mild olfactory report - not the brash, screaming, crashing, uncontrolled rage of a viking berserker. The beer is positively black, like a pool of conquered souls, slain by viking raiders. Very little head - this beer doesn’t have time to fuck around with such frivolities. A fair bit of malt sweetness, with a sour bite that is pronounced albeit not too offensive. This porter does not taste especially porter like, while not being difficult to drink or offensive, it is harsh, cruel, uncaring, like fierce norsemen coursing the cold north seas. There is not a great deal of coffee flavor, nor of chocolate. This is a rather unique porter in regards to flavor, at least in my experiences. Goes down cold and smooth, with no significant aftershock other than some mild sour notes that kick in a bit late. Not a great beer, but a perfectly good one that is quite drinkable and honestly refreshing!

Bottle: black pour with thin off-white head. Aroma is of slightly charred toast, a little sesame seed, coffee roast and somewhat oystery. Flavor is charred roast grain, coffee, toastd bread, and ends with a grainy coffee bitterness. Great aroma, nice flavors, good with food.

33cl flaska inköpt på Island. Bäst före 7 jan 2015. Väldigt mörk öl som inte går att se igenom. Ljus och riklig skumkrona som snabbt försvinner. Söt lite bränd smak och smak av mörkt bröd. Mild men tydlig efterbeska.

Bottle from Myvatn Nature Baths, Iceland. Pours black with a thin tan head that fades extremely quickly. Aroma is roasted malts, vanilla, dark chocolate and strong coffee. Flavour is moderate sweetness but a low bitterness. Surprisingly carbonated and thin bodied. Most of the darker beers in Iceland seem to over load on the malt. This on manages to balance it nicely.
