2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
I find it quite remarkable that I sit in my lounge in New Zealand, able to drink a product from Iceland. Just remarkable. Anyway, so this is hazy pale yellow in colour with a skim of transient white head. Aromas of lemons, faintly chemical Belgian ale yeast and meringue. Pleasant enough.
Quite vigorous carbonation in the mouth followed by gentle flavours of those same lemons that isn’t sweet and isn’t sour either. There’s a definite but gentle tang at the beginning of the end. At face value this is a pleasant lunchtime snifter but not the most complex or assertive beer I have drunk.
But still, it’s Icelandic! It has novelty value for me I suppose.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy yellow body with a thin white head. Lively carbonation. Nice lacing. Aroma of pineapple, apricot and minerals. Flavour of gin and tonic, cloudy lemonade and grass. Crying out for a spicy finish to balance the sharpness. Medium body with a spritzy mouthfeel. Very fizzy. Refreshing but one dimensional - nearly great.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Cloudy yellow body, medium white head. Aroma has sweet citrus peel and coriander. Taste has sweet lemon and coriander, sparkly yet soapy mouthfeel. Sweet finish. Not as wheaty as the best Witbiers and too much soap going on.

A hazy golden brew with a white head. Aromas of lemon zest and wheat. Tastes of lemons, coriander peel, and lots of wheat. Zesty, citrus finish. Very clean and refreshing. Extremely smooth, a bit soapy but it works. I really enjoyed this one.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle (Drink Shop, Tallinn)
Very nice crisp zesty aroma, tons of coriander seed. Nice hazy pale yellow, perhaps a it insipid. Nice milky grains. Zest and coriander in the retronasals by the ton, uplifting. Light and refresh palate, pleasant crisp carbonation. Again zest comes to the fore, and coriander refuses to shut up. This is what a wit should be. None of those gutless limp things, this one has bite, and I like that. Well crafted, no flaws, interesting, exciting almost. A pleasure to drink, and a shame to finish.

Very pale and cloudy. Aroma is very huge coriander. Balanced palate, quite spicy w sweet pale malts, quenching wheaty acidity. Some phenols but only in the background. One of the better wits I’ve had lately.
