Red-brown colour with fluffy, pretty low head. Gentle smokey aroma with a touch of bacon. Smoke, caramel and dough are present in maltiness. Good beer but not great. Medium body.

Aug 9, 2008 Bottle. Pours red amber with a fizzy off white head. Aroma is lightly smoked and a bit sweet. Flavor has smoke, peat, burnt wood and earth. Very nice.

Aug 6, 2008 This is indeed an immensely satisfying lager, though the smoked malt is understated. Pours a perfect amber pint with a suitable top. Pleasant amber malt aroma with hint of honey malt and some grain. Wonder malt flavor, akin to a good amber ale. Superbly crafted with a hint of smoke adding a complementary complexity.

Jul 22, 2008 shared with friends at the first Stumelagram Tasting ... some intresting things happening here, oak, syrup, mild bbq aromas ... nice complex yet light flavours ... pretty full in the mouth .. goes well with cubed ham... sweet and smoke kissed...

Jul 21, 2008 Pours a very attractive crystal clear amber brown with a three finger, cream colored head. The nose is smooth and slightly smokey with a touch of bitterness. The flavor is quite the same. This beer is all about subtlety. There is a bit of a vegital hoppiness in the finish that dropped the overall score .1 for me, but still quite easy to drink.

Jul 20, 2008 Bottle. Pour is a dark amber/brownish copper with a pretty big head and sweet caramel/bread dough and nut aromas. Smoke comes through in flavor much stronger, however and it is fairly interesting to see how it mixes with the flavors that are also present in the nose. While it is fairly interesting to see how this plays out in a "lager," it sure doesn’t hit a chord with me...
