Rich and complex. Medium bitterness. Dark Lager, with roasted and chocolate malt character. It goes well with pork, sweet sauces, spaetzle with bacon, fruit or cheese, German sausages, ham, fish, mushrooms, bitter chocolate desserts.

From a 355ml bottle. Deep brown beer with ample foamy tan head. Nose has bananas, dark chocolate and roasted nuts with coffee hints. Palate is sweet and lively with a soft bitter finish. Went down easy.

12 ounce bottle purchased at Mercado de Ponta Negra in Natal, Brazil. Bottled Sep 2013. The aroma on this is sweet with some nutty character, and light coffee. Mostly nutty, though. Somewhat transparent mahogany body with a small, wispy off-white head present. Starts a bit metallic, before this becomes more sweet with light chocolate. Followed by a lot of hazelnut flavors and a little roast later on. This is pretty tasty stuff, if I do say so myself!

12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, some light chocolate, pale malts, some dough, and hints of bitterness. Flavor the same with a little less roast that one would expect from the nose. Average texture. A decent dunkel.

Compared to the brazilian dark beers it’s a very good beer, rich and complex wit a perfect bitterness. Compared to the european dark beers (let’s say german dunkel beers) there is a lot to improve.

A very ordinary dunkel. It does not offer anything special. A little bit unbalanced, but it is drinkable.
