| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 17, 2008 Nice interesting label on this brown bottle. Almost astringent aroma, like cooked leaf veggies. Ubiquitous pale yellow american beer appearance. Nearly flat but has some creamy fine carbonation to it. No hop bitterness but there is a malt alky bite on the palate. Almost offensive on the finish but never quite gets there. IMHO one of the better eisenbahns I’ve tasted. nuplastikk (1261), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 7, 2008 12oz bottle. Pale tan-orange color, transparent. Sweet sugary malt aroma. Taste is sweet and malty, a little more full bodied than most Kolschs. In it’s defense there is nothing on the bottle that would indicate that this is anything but a Brazilian Golden Ale. Fruity finish with a nice crisp hop balance. A very nice session beer. ratman197 (3275), Arvada, Colorado, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 9/20 | Feb 22, 2008 Bottle poured a clear golden amber with a small lasting off white head. Aromas of straw, light carmel and light fruitiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of bread, light carmel and a hint of fruitiness with a crisp clean finish. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 14, 2008 Bottle.
Head is initially small, fizzy/frothy, white, fully diminishing.
Body is dark yellow to light amber.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain/bread, malt syrup), lightly hoppy (flowers).
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation.
Sweeter/maltier than most true Kölsch, and it suffers from a lackluster mouthfeel and appearance, but the nose is pretty good. Good for where it’s from, but nothing special in the grand scheme. Skyview (4121), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 5, 2008 Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at John’s Market Place in Portland, Oregon. Pours a clear golden pale brew with a fast dissolving white head that dissipates to a thin white ring. Aroma of semi-sweet multi-grain malt, some flowery hops and some fruity character. Taste is medium bodied, some carbonation with flavors of multi-grain malt, light fruit, powdered sugar and some light pears. Finish is thin and slightly watery with a fruity bread aftertaste that quickly disappears. badgerben (3610), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
