Commercial Description:
Eisenbahn’s South American Pale Ale is well-balanced, with sweet wholesome malt, and earthy complexity, and a uniquely spicy aroma that results from a special, and secret, blend of Old and New World hops.

Pours dark amber with a good amount of white head. Some lacing. Taste is bitter hops and sweet malts. Pretty well balanced. Euro hop profile, not much in common with American APAs. Not a bad brew, just a bit on the lower side of the spectrum.

bottle. Pours a golden color with slight reddish hue. Slightly sweet aroma with little hop aroma. Sweet malts are abundant in taste but very little hop presence. It lingers a little in the finish. Overall not too bad

Not good signs early (a gusher) and the nose definately had an overt piney, hoppy note, indicating a bug. This character popped up again to taste but to my mind certainly not unpleasant, and in any event mostly blew off. The fruit character really really grew on me; hoppy notes get quite sweet but they are very seductive and don’t show much bitterness. Great introduction to the range.

Found this bottled in an import multi-pack at World Market in St. Charles, Illinois. Clear, medium brown pour with a rapidly dissipating foamy tan head, a mild, fruity malty nose, very malty taste, peaty and nutty with a heavy, malty finish. Very unlike the style, not at all hoppy, and very different.

interesting little pale ale that reminds me of a mild aventinus without the "weizen": boiled egg aroma, initially, then as it settles there is some complexity--ginger, honey; somewhat earthy, not so smooth, but fair; decent brew.

Clear bronze with small head. Sweet malt aroma. Complex mix of subtle malt; a little toast, a little honey sweetness and some floral hops kick in. Enjoyable.

Bronze with decent layered thin foam of an inch. Mild hop aroma of European and perhaps North American influence. Fairly restrained hop flavor, but with interesting spiciness and some light malting. Refreshing, but rather dull.
