3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 CaptainCougar (6835) - Columbia, USA - OCT 21, 2007
Pours a transparent bright bronze with a thin, wsipy-lacing white head. Aroma has a lightly sweet toasty caramel maltiness with a fairly fresh piny hop presence. Starts with a nice caramely sweetness and crisp slightly piny hop presence. Finishes smooth and bittersweet. A pretty nice pale ale.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Padilha (82) - BRAZIL - FEB 4, 2012
Altamente carbonatada e retrogosto amargo nem um pouco agradável, dando a impressão de ser "indigesta".
Muito enjoativa. Desequilibramente amarga, com nenhuma sensação de "Ah... que bela cerveja! Vou pegar outra garrafa!". Definitivamente não.

First off this beer has got to be better fresh. A:crystal malts, touch earthy/herbal hops T:same as aroma Even with the beer not being fresh it was not bad. It could be a really good pale ale fresh, I will try again if I can get a fresh example... maybe in Brazil?

Very common beer here in Porto Alegre (you’ll find it in the supermarket easily). Slightly better on tap than when bottled, but not by much. Lots of spices (nutmeg principally), not too much hops, somewhat dry, very yeastly, very dusty. Reminds me more of a Belgian (Pale) Ale than anything else. Average carbonation. Drinkable but blah. Blah, meh, bah.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Sevenlee (539) - Central Coast, NSW, AUSTRALIA - MAR 4, 2011
Pours a dark golden colour with a white head. Aroma is malty with hints of hops and some spices. Taste is sweet malt and hoppy with a slight roasted taste. Medium bitter finish. Lacking some complexity. I usually like Eisenbahn but I was hoping for more with this one.

Ehhh. Probably one of the least hoppy pale ales I’ve ever had. The taste is fascinating, though not good: spices, very floral.

Bottle. Your average beer. Not an APA. More like a pale lager. Clean crisp taste. Not hops to it. Mostly very malty. Easy beer. No aftertaste. Not very good or worth the money.

Bottle. Drank in April 09. Clear coppery pour with a small, fleeting white head. Aroma is malty, cidery. Flavor is same, just watered down. Really not that great, but not exactly horrible either.

Poured a clear copper color with a thin white head. Metallic aroma with pale malts. Taste is also slightly metallic but there are some good grassy malt flavors. Finish is slightly skunky. A pretty good beer, and my first from Brazil!
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Elwood (1967) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - JUL 19, 2010
Serving: 12 oz. bottle from the BOTM club.
It pours a nice amber color with a frothy white head. The nose is light with mostly malt notes. Light caramel, a bit of earth, and some grass. The flavor isn’t nearly as hop forward as I would consider most APAs, but it still isn’t terrible. Malty with a good dose of caramel, a bit sweet, and fruity. Light grass notes come from the hop side. Light to medium body with average carbonation and a medium finish. Contrary to all the bad reviews, I found this brew rather serviceable and a decent session brew. I would probably throw it in the pale ale category, but that’s for the brewer to decide.

Clear gold, small white head fades. Aroma is fruity and malty. Taste is the same, a bit watery and dirty. Wasn’t expecting much and it lived up to that.
