| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 14, 2009 Bottle. Hazy brown pour with a short light tan head that quickly diminishes to surface cover. Aroma is sweet and a little spicy with notes of chocolate, bubblegum, clove, caramel and nuts. Flavour is similar but has more malt and a little less sweetness, plus a hint of coffee. Creamy mouthfeel, minimal carbonation and a relatively short sweet finish. Not a bad weizen bock but doesn’t stand out in any way; very easy to drink though. popery (206), San Francisco, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 19, 2009 Okay Weizenbock that suffers from comparisons to the top beers of the style. Aventinus and the relatively new Weihenstephaner Vitus really blow this beer out of the water. It’s certainly not a bad beer. It’s just sort of simple and unsophisticated in comparison to the big German entries, which happen to be a couple of my very favorite beers. Anyway, this beer looks pretty good, red amber liquid with a dissipating beige head. There are some good wheat and fruit notes in the nose, but they’re a bit restrained. There just isn’t enough depth The flavor is too sweet and cloying for my taste. The flavors are syrupy clove, ripe banana and caramel malt. There are also some unpleasant alcohol notes. It’s not sharp, but there’s just a bit of a rubbing alcohol flavor around the edges. I sound down on this beer, but I think it’s good, just not great. mkel07 (562), Brisbane, Australia
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 14, 2009 355ml bottle. Dark cola colur wuth a light tan foam top that quickly settles and then flattens. Aroma of bubblegum and bananas which is sweet and aromatic. Dry finish that sits well in the mouth and has a slight brnt aftertaste. madmitch76 (659), , Essex, England

Semi dry chocolatey finish with a whisper of banana. Very nice example of the style. FROTHINGSLOSH (2046), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 1, 2009 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright red-caramel color with a medium sized khaki head. The aroma was malty with notes of molasses and cherry and an odd undertone I was not able to identify but really detracted. The flavor was tart and tangy with notes of molasses, ripe cherries, apricots and a light sour vegetal undertone. The finish was long, fruity, malty had touches of vegetal malts and molasses. Fairly full bodied. Interesting, but I was hoping for more. bsp77 (202), Minnesota, USA

Hazy chocolate brown with huge billowing head that eventually settled to 1/2 inch.
Aroma of banana, bubblegum, sweet dark fruit (plum?), slight noble hops and wheatiness.
Caramel and fruity malts, some banana and clove spiciness, light bitterness, somewhat grainy from the wheat. Semi-sweet wheat aftertaste.
Thick and chewy, more moderate carbonation than the pour suggested, slightly warming. There is also a slight chalky coating that it left in my month that detracts a little.
Easy to keep sipping all night long, and the alcohol is mostly hidden. The chalkiness is the only hindrance.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 9, 2009 Pours deep brown, tan head. Aroma is full of banana and a bit of fruitcake. Very nice.
Sweet flavour, dark fruits initially with fuitcake, banana sweetness. The alcohol is very well hidden, shows only slightly in the finish.
A nice weizenbock, perhaps with slightly underpowered flavours.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 5, 2009 12 oz bottle. Fairly clear brownish amber with a thick head the fizzles out to pretty much nothing. Aroma is fruity and spicy, lots of banana, clove, sweet bread and a bit of alcohol. The flavor is sweet and sour, the sourness is like a sourdough bread with a bit of an earth yeast flavor as well. The alcohol is completely hidden. Medium body with a thick smooth mouth feel, average carbonation. Pretty good.
