On tap at the brewpub. A lightly unclear, almost amber colroed beer topped by a dense, beige finger-thick head. Some curtains. The aroma is rather malty, with vienna malt-like notes, grapefruit, resins and pine cones. The bitterness in the flavor, both initially and in the swallow should be more pronounced, as the maltyness is so evident as it is. Nutty and malty with a faint roasted touch. Full body and a pleasant carbonation level, and a malty and decently bitter finish. Overall, nice and clear, but too malty for an IPA I think. 140905

On tap @ Bølgen & Moi. This is a deep peach-amber one with a small, light lacing off-white top. The nose has a fruit-sugar-sweetness with sticky boiled down wild strawberries, some grainy corns and traces of earthy nuts. Actually not that horrible, but perhaps a bit anonymous and definitely not an Americanized style IPA. The taste has a more defined hoppy and bitter profile. It’s quite comfortably carbonated and the mouthfeel is both dry-ish and oily. A bit pungent-hoppy, almost harsh perhaps with what can be describes as a strong grassy profile. The mouthdrying mouthfeel is a bit annoying and quite lingering in the grassy almost barch-like aftertaste. Not something I feel the need to try again to be honest. 11.01.2012

On tap at Bølgen & Moi, Bergen. Pours a hazy orange colour with a off-white creamy medium head. Has a very fruity and fresh aroma with apricot and fruity hops. Pleasant. The flavour has more grassy hops, but feels still fruity. Has a soft and rich mouth feel, and a medium bitterness. A solid IPA with a nice aroma.

On tap @ Bølgen & Moi, Bergen. Pours a hazy nougat-hued orange body with a medium creamy white head. Nose is grapefruit, lime peel, caramel, pine, grass and nuts. Taste is earthy leaves, grass and pine with hints of cellar must and potato peel in the back. Very "down to earth", so to speak (sorry, couldn’t help myself :-P). Mellow carbonation and medium body and mouthfeel. A nice IPA of the "fruit-in-the-nose-and-earth-in-the-mouth&quo (some American hop blends tend to have that effect on me) and quite traditional, but pretty nice nevertheless.
