COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This world-famous beer has the character and richness to stand in for fine sherry or port. Just the right degree of sweetness - never cloying; wonderfully aromatic and warming. EKU 28 is the one whenever something good and strong is needed.

9/II/2012 33cl bottle from Gradi Plato (Roma) @ home - BB: 7/X/12 (2012-115)

Clear dark amber beer, aery small off-white head, dissipates immediately, non adhesive. Aroma: caramel, overripe banana, port, orange peel, alcohol. Smells like it’s been aged for 5 years already. MF: good carbon, full body. Taste: overripe banana, marzipan, amaretto, sweet caramel, some fudge, green banana peel, little bitter. Aftertaste: sugary, caramel, bit metallic, some alcohol but in general the alcohol is pretty well hidden.

Poured a very pretty amber with a surprising head conseidering the abv. Starts cloyingly sweet but then becomes more mild as the alcohol kicks in.

Clear amber of color with a white head. An aroma of prunes, dark fruits, sweets and port. A flavor of candy, sweets, alcohol, dark fruits, port and an oily texture.

Bottle - Pours clear copper with a thin light tan head. Nice nose on this one--sweet and malty with some boozy sherry notes. Big rich, boozy bread--yum. Taste is pretty thick and syrupy, with maple notes, candi sugar, and sweet honey bread. Restrained boozy notes, more warming than sharp. Wow...I’m not much for big boozy beers these days, but this is pretty good. Update - as this warmed, it got much boozier and sharper. Gotta dock this a couple points, as the smell doesn’t match with the taste.

Pours clear copper colour with no head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, malts, mild grass and ripe fruits, mild plum at the end. Surprisingly easy to drink.

Aroma is sweet with malt. banana, some alcohol and plastic glue. Flavour is rather strong on caramel. Also some toffee, sweet malt and alcohol. Sticky stuff. Good, I was expecting much worse.
