COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This world-famous beer has the character and richness to stand in for fine sherry or port. Just the right degree of sweetness - never cloying; wonderfully aromatic and warming. EKU 28 is the one whenever something good and strong is needed.

Bottle at home from backlog notes 07/08. Pours a clear orange amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, caramel, dark fruit, boozy alcohol, a slight nutty character, thin body detracts because of the booziness, sweet finish with no bitterness to balance.

Nice dark copper amber color with small tan head and no lacing, thick and oily. Aroma and flavor have sweet caramel malts, light fruit notes, and syruppy molasses. Okay overall.

Translucent amber with a thick foamy beige head. Medium-full body with light slickness and medium carbonation.

Aroma: bready munich malt, bready yeast notes, faint dark fruits.

Taste: bread, sulphur, minarality, medium kilned malt, and a fair amount of alcohol warmth in the finish.

Bottle from Total Wine with Dad. Tastes like Sherry, only it is beer. That is all you need to know.

It releases medium to high intensity smell of blackberries and toast. It is sweet in the mouth and more round as it warms. Its texture is very thick at the edge of sweet. Medium to high intensity final marked by a strong alcoholic presence that amplifies the aftertaste. Fruity notes of mandarin, blackcurrant and blackberry. Don’t be fool by the strong alcoholic presence it’s quite good.

This beer is hard to find, but worth looking for. Gourmet Haus Stadt in Redwood City has a couple of cases available right now (10 April 2014). This beer is not for the Corona, Bud, Miller Lite crowd. Its strong and strong tasting. The texture is almost syrupy and the taste has caramel notes and aroma. There is a fruity and malt flavor as well. At 11% alcohol, more than a couple would be overdoing it.

(bottle) pours a clear copper-amber colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of treebark, brown sugar and caramel, slightly oxidized, with a hint of herbal hops. flavour is mostly heavy cardboard, raisins and alcohol, again quite oxidized, with some chewy pale malts and a heavy sweentess. heavy-bodied with soft carbonation.
