Never had head as big as the picture when I poured it. I thought this was pretty good actually. Comes off pretty heavy, but with a different and pleasant taste. A bit expensive but nice.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 nick76 (3458) - Tampa, Florida, USA - AUG 12, 2006
The aroma has raisins, brown sugar, paper, cereal malt and alcohol. The appearance is light red brown (like the picture) with a small head (nothing like the picture). The flavor is very sweet with a moderate amount of bitterness. The alcohol is present from start to finish and warms the throat. The palate is sticky. The alcohol is a bit too strong for me but isn’t that the point of an Eisbock?
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Jukkabro (3457) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAR 11, 2009
Bright coppery colored with little vanishing yellow head. Raisinny and nutty aroma with some bourbon port vinous notes, still rather thin one, mild alcohol comes up. Medium to full bodied. Flavor has sweet caramel and raisins in start, aftertaste dries with mild alcohol and port, dryness here too. Alcohol lasts rather obviously.

Deep copper pour with a tiny white head and lace. A deep brown sugar aroma dominated for me. Brown sugar on the flavor followed by a very light smooth finishing bitter. A bit foamy medium bodied beer.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 JK (3385) - Uptown, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 2, 2005
UPDATED: FEB 24, 2007 This is a pleasant beer. Light red color with a head that only lasts for seconds. Light aroma with carmel and some malt. Flavor has a little alcohol, more carmel, and the standard bock flavor of malt. Very smooth and easy to drink. The alcohol is hidden well. A low key beer that doesn’t hit hard in any way but is great for slow sipping.

[Portland International Beer Festival – Tap]
A dark copper colored brew. Had a very sweet flavor with a light spiciness. The malt characteristics where very complex and the alcohol was very high. This is a cold winters night drinking brew.
