COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This world-famous beer has the character and richness to stand in for fine sherry or port. Just the right degree of sweetness - never cloying; wonderfully aromatic and warming. EKU 28 is the one whenever something good and strong is needed.

Is this what happens when your only goal is to make a beer with high ABV? There are many beers with this level of alcohol that are so much better. The beer pours clear brown with a reddish tint and an uneven soapy light tan head that disappears very quick. Aroma is rich caramel and alcohol - lots of sweetness. Syrupy thick body with very little carbonation. Flavor starts with alcohol and caramel - rich and sweet. Finish has even more alcohol - warm finish. Whilst this has lots in the ABV department it is quite boring and unimpressive.

bottle - Pours clear light amber with a thin head. The aroma is malt and some mild dark fruit notes. The taste is sweet, almost syrupy, caramel malt and light fruit notes. Full bodied, lightly carbonated, and with some definite alcohol presence, especially in the finish, I thought this beer was a good dessert beer, but not what I’d call world class.

Amber in color, with nose of alcohol and molasses.Sweet and syrupy with a harsh alcohol heat that is very unpleasant on the palate.

Wow, this is not what I was expecting on my first taste. Very deep golden appareance, with a aromatic hint of rubbing alchohol. Very sweet and a little over sugary which is kind of annoying. Then there is that alchohol burn in the aftertaste. Do not get me wrong I liked drinking this one, but there are something about it that were a little hard to handle.

Clear amber of color with a white head. An aroma of prunes, dark fruits, sweets and port. A flavor of candy, sweets, alcohol, dark fruits, port and an oily texture.

Bottle, at No. 5. Dark golden with white head, fully disappearing. No lacings. Aroma very sweet. Flavor first very sweet (fruity), ending in a fine bitterness. Medium body, oily/creamy, the strength is felt.

Strong caramel and mustiness on the aroma of this copper-bodied brew. Flavor is much the same- caramel and musty malts, with a light fruity essence. Alcohol is surprisingly subdued, but this beer is not too interesting regardless of its strength.

Brewtopia 2004: Clear amber orange. Alcohol and biscuits with some light spices. Syrupy mouthfeel, starts sweet and gets even more sweet. I’m not sure that I would like this as much if I drank a bottle or two at once.
