3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Kinz (2694) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - NOV 4, 2006
Surprised I hadn’t rated this one yet, as it is a beer I return to from time to time as a palate check. How much I enjoyed it this time around is definitely reflective of my constantly evolving tastes for beer. It tasted like I remembered, except the cloying sweetness of my memory has changed into a rich maltiness. Medium amber, slight head fades immediately. Aroma a strong shot of caramel and sherry. Flavor matches, caramel, a touch of molasses smokiness, faint sherry notes apparent in the alcohol, and a bit flour that reminds me of the smell of homemade play-do and a project I did once in elementary school of a vinegar volcano. But no vinegar notes. I digress. Enjoyable.

33 cl bottle. Light brown colour with a biege head. Very sweet of malt both in tha aroma and the taste. Ends up with a warm feeling. No yeast en bottom. Fast disappearing foam. Some sweet caramel aftertaste.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Gusler (2655) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - NOV 8, 2002
The beer pours a pellucid amber color, the head mountainous and beige, chunky lace both desiccate way to quickly. Nose is fusel alcohol, caramel, malt, molasses like. Front is malt, the top full, the finish is vigorously acidic, authoritatively hopped, dry aftertaste. Well ’Sports Fans’, I can see why most won’t like this beer, the ’Alcohol is OVERPOWERING’. To say that it is robust, would be an understatement, and most assuredly not meant for everyone. I like it, as with Belzebuth (15%), something I’d only drink when I need to restart my heart. Ranks #430 on my current 1000 beer master list.

Orange-amber, almost salmon colored, and lacking a head so it almost looks like a tinted wine. Hearty alcoholic malt aroma that reappears in the flavor. A great, warming , heavy on the palate, winter beer. Like a fine, malty wine.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 GregClow (2645) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 24, 2006
Can from trade with piscator34. Beautiful clear copper with a small white head. Sweet caramel aroma with lingering alcohol warmth and some hints of smoke and tobacco. Flavour is quite sweet to start, with notes of caramel, icing sugar, almond & orange, leading into a very warm, moderately bitter finish. A bit harsh around the edges, but still enjoyable, especially if you take the time to drink it slowly.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 DSG (2633) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - APR 1, 2008
(3/10/08) Bottle at Delirium Cafe in Brussels. Best before 4/4/09. Clear amber with lively carbonation and a slowly-diminishing off-white head. Aroma of a lot of malt and caramel. Sweet flavor of malt, caramel and some alcohol. Medium to full-bodied. Great stuff but a bit too much alcoholic feel.

Pours an airy off-white head on a clear copper colored body. Typical eisbock aroma, sweet and caramelly and alcoholic. Flavor is dominated by a cloying sweetness. Fruit, malt and caramel and a warming tone of alcohol. Definately not my kind of beer.
