COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This world-famous beer has the character and richness to stand in for fine sherry or port. Just the right degree of sweetness - never cloying; wonderfully aromatic and warming. EKU 28 is the one whenever something good and strong is needed.

Bottle Peg Leg Pub St Maarten. Pours out a deep brown color with a slight frothy head. Aroma is sweet and malty. The taste is pretty much all malts, with some notes of alcohol, and sugar with a few notes of alcohol, but not as much as would be expected.

(on bottle) dark, clear orange, no head. really heavy malts and tons of rotten berries in the flavour, diden´t have it icecold, so it became very cloying, along with the strong alcohol influence. you just have to eat something roasted with this one.

Mmmm, very nice. Poured with a huge, thick, foamy, light tan head. Very little lace. Great dark copperish amber color. Aroma is very intense malty, caramel, toffee, and yeasty. Flavor is the same. Finish is yeasty bitter at first then fading to above sweet flavors. A hint of the big alcohol, but not bad. Super rich; would only want one or two. Having this one with a bowl of spicy congee and it’s a perfect match. They have it a Bodega downtown La Crosse too.

Amber colour with a small mostly diminsihing white head. Aroma of caramel malts and hops. To sweet and to much of bitter alocohol aftertaste in the finish.

Bottle. Poured a red hazy body with decent size head. Aroma was very sweet malty. Flavor was sweet also with a nice kick to it. Alcohol level very lightly detected, smooth for the style.

An alcohol kick on the first sip, but as it warms, it becomes a nice mellow drink. I think my bottle is abit old, probably mellowed abit. Alot of sugar and malt, but really not as overpowering as I’d expect, quite nice.

330 ML bottle in Germany. Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t this used to be about 13%? Anyway, it is one of the better beers at being able to handle the high alcohol content. At one time this was the Strongest beer in the world. Times have changed. The original ice beer!
