It is not easy to brew 28 plato degrees. Kulmbacher manages it, but the result is too much alcohol-tasting to me.

My lord what an understood brew! Sit back, take a sip, think. reflect, enjoy...! this is a qualiy brew folks! A rare, and potent brew. Malty and slightly sweet, then liqueur on the finish but not to much! think style folks...this beer fits the style. Wonderful!
Kulmbacher eisbock is sweet, then liqueur on the finish. Wonderful!

Poured from bottle. A very deep red amber color with no head at all. Beautiful fragrance of butterscotch and alcohol. Candy sweet taste with a subtle maltiness. The strong alcohol is fairly well hidden. I would dare to say that this is probably a great brew to have with dessert after a formal dinner.

Well....
A number of my friends like this beer. It's really not for me; it's just way too over the top for a beer. If you must sip a beer, have a cognac.

One of my favorite beers. Amber color, small head, sweet but not overwhelmingly so. I thought it was very easy to drink, and had to invite some friends over to check this one out!

Gave off an aroma of sweet maple and gave off a similar taste. It had a somewhat upfront alcohol palate. Nice amber color and left a nice lacing in the glass...almost like a fine wine. Recommended for those looking for something new.

to strong a wired taste - but you have to try it.

Interesting, but just too sweet for me. Alcohol content was suprising, but if I want something with an alcohol content almost comparable to whiskey, then I’m going to have a whiskey!

Bottle. Pours clear, maple syrup coloured with a very short-lived yellowish head. Within a minute, the glass looked like a cup of tea. Aromas of cinnamon, almonds, caramel ad candied fruits such as figs prunes and dates. As the beer warmed up, extra aromas of marrons glacés and caramelized bananas were released. The first sip was surprisingly bitter, but the aromas previously mentioned come through shortly afterwards. After amalgamation with saliva, the fruitiness subsides and reveals a new spectrum of malts including coffee and milk/white chocolate and a hint of liquorice. Mouthfeel is pleasant despite being a little watery for the intensity of the aromas and flavours. The alcohol content is barely hidden but blends well and is most noticeable in the aftertaste which is reminiscent of a freshly served sticky date pudding... flambé. Overall a very pleasant beer despite its unfortunate appearance due to the lack of head.
