COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This world-famous beer has the character and richness to stand in for fine sherry or port. Just the right degree of sweetness - never cloying; wonderfully aromatic and warming. EKU 28 is the one whenever something good and strong is needed.

Copper colored with miniscule head and a boozy, fruity aroma with some malt. Thick on the tongue, very sweet, sherry like, lots of alcohol in the finish. Can’t say this one really did much for me-maybe it sat around too long.

Clear copper with a small off-white head. Aroma of roast, alcohol, nuts, light sweet fruit, and must. Taste is sweet and boozy. Body is full.

Bottle. Pour is murky copper/ red with a small white head Aroma is grainy and malty with hints of maple, cramel, and toffee. Smells really sweet. Flavor is light spicy malt, hints of caramel, and a touch of pepper. More and more malt become aparent as drink continues. Not my favorite.

11.2 oz. bottle, EDT. 06-04-13- Pours clear orange with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet, honey, alcohol, it smells like mead actually. The taste is more traditional Eisbock, strong alcohol presence, sherry notes, malt, cherry, leaves a dry almost bitter finish. Body is full, carbonation is low. Overall I am not crazy about Eisbocks, but this one is a decent after dinner sipper.

Appearance: light amber colour, minimal white head. Aroma: vanilla, sweets, yeast. Taste: yeasty, sweet. Like a really good cookie: sweet but not too harshly.

Bread, caramel, toffee, and spice in the aroma. Flavor is sweet with caramel. Heavy alcohol and just a little bitterness in the finish. Starts nice but a little too sweet and boozy for my liking.

Brown bottle holding 33cl of beer, best before 4th Apr 2009, drank 9th Dec 2008. Poured into a Duvel glass. Amber, reddy/orange in colour, clear but no head, not even a collar. Looked like a glass of fizzy pop. The aroma was of sweet oranges, marmalade maybe, and toffee. Interesting but not beery in my opinion. The alcohol is obviously at the front of the taste and appears towards the end of the taste too. Inbetween I got oranges (like the aromas) and a sweetness which I found reminded me of toffee apples, but with a strange dryness too. Too sweet and the lack of a head, un-beery look along with its fruity smell doesn’t do it any favours and the 11% just masks its shortcomings.

Hmmm, It’s hard to say what the age is on this bottle... sort of wish that were more apparent on the label, I believe I purchased it about five years ago.... let’s see how she’s doing.

The beer pours very pretty, and pretty much exactly like the photo you see right there, the color is a deep copper, the head is large, fluffy, slightly loose and well retained.

Man the aroma on this thing is pungent, as I type this the snifter is sitting a few feet away and I can smell it like I’ve got my nose in the glass. Rich raisin, fig, and brown sugar notes are dominant. I hesitate to say caramel even though it was sort of my initial impression... it’s a more complex sweetness than simply caramel. Some burnt sugar and alcohol along with very light black cherry & vanilla notes are there too. It’s a weird changeling of a beer, one whiff seems dominated by paint thinner like alcohol, the next is rich and sweet, the next is deep and fruity. Luckily the paint thinner is pretty fleeting.

The flavor is not as rich or complex as the aroma, but luckily it doesn’t taste anything like a cardboard box either, which was my primary fear with this bottle. The beer is certainly very different from pretty well anything I’ve ever tasted... dried dark fruits like fig and raisin are there, but the sweetness level is not particularly high... which I like, but usually fig and raisin with this strong of a beer are accompanied by a little bit more sweetness, so it’s weird... but not bad. Some nice clean maltiness has stayed with the beer over the years and the alcohol is perfectly warming without becoming overly boozy at any time. Light flavors of vanilla and yes caramel compliment the beer well. As the bottle progresses this becomes more and more charming.

Fairly small orange/tan head with a red/orange body. Incredibly sweet malty nose that’s somewhat wine-like due to the concentration. Very sweet amber malty and fairly intense flavor. Very rich body and a sweet finish

Bottle. Chestnut color with big cream colored head that dissipated- no lacing. Smells a bit like flat grape soda. Tastes a bit grapey, too-- kind of cloyingly sweet. Sweet and syrupy. Not my favorite- but I can’t resist the terribleness of "A Nice Eisbock."

From the bottle poured a coppery colored brew with a thick, rapidly dissipating head. Interesting aromas of malt and modelinng glue.Medium bodied with flavors of malt, cherries, and bitter hops.
