COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This world-famous beer has the character and richness to stand in for fine sherry or port. Just the right degree of sweetness - never cloying; wonderfully aromatic and warming. EKU 28 is the one whenever something good and strong is needed.

11.2 oz bottle. Pours out a copper brown with a reddish tan head. Sweet sticky malt mainly in the aroma. Flavor was quite sweet with malt characteristics and touches of red apple juice and sherry with a nice alcohol burn on the finish. Pretty full and complex on the palate. For a strong beer, I liked this a lot, I guess much more than most people did here.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 9A). Bottle 33 cl - Batch F2 21:05. AROMA: strong malty presence with notes of some caramel and bread crust (mailllard reaction). peppery alcohol aromas complement the malt. APPEARANCE: deep ambar color with slight orange highlights and translucent. medium to thin ivory head with low retention with some lacing. TASTE: strong malty and alcoholic presence with a sweet character and some toasty notes. moderately-low and balanced bitterness. almost sweet finish. PALATE: full body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: a very good (and strong) doppelbock.

330ml bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours clear amber, short-lived off-white head. Aromas of honey, caramel, light herbs, wood and boozy notes. Brandy maybe. Taste is sweet, light booze burn, malty, some fruit preserved in alcohol kinda thing going on. Slightly sticky on the finish.

Bottle. Dark yellow, brownish colour. Medium beige head. Aroma of caramel, banana and alcohol. Flavour is similar, with some candy sugar. The alcohol is a bit too forward. Sweet caramel medium finish. Creamy body and high carbo. Could be better. Too sweet and the alcohol could be more pleasant ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Closed on opening. Starts with a light fruity pear drop nose before morphing into banana. Booze hammers through over time and makes the body a thick heavy enveloping ton of weight. Golden copper to the eye. Thin head then fine beading too. Still The Terminator to me. Cannot be rushed or understand quickly in some big stupid tadting wherevtime is held in utter contempt. You neen an evening of focus to get your head around it.

Bottle 33cl. Clear deep amber color, small frothy beige head, sizzles away within seconds, no lacing; sweet malty aroma, roasted, caramel, honey, nutty, alcohol, liquor; taste medium to heavy sweet, light bitter, honey, roasted malts; full-bodied, oily texture, flat carbonation, aftertaste sweetbitter, towards finish burning and astringent sensatons giving it a medicinal feel; heavy duty beer, alcohol ever-present.

33cl bottle. Often overpriced, but I really, really like it. Orange fluid, no head. The flavours hint at strong alcohol and surely indicate sweetness. Most people will find it too outspoken, but I adore the cognac, spiritlike sensation - an ending that lasts forever. The beer is thick and strong, malty enough. It also is very sweet, but this fits the character.

Very good and strong Aroma, beautifull appearance but difficult to drink... Like all doppelbock to me. Very sweet and malty.
