COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This world-famous beer has the character and richness to stand in for fine sherry or port. Just the right degree of sweetness - never cloying; wonderfully aromatic and warming. EKU 28 is the one whenever something good and strong is needed.

Very whiskey like with a definitive oak barrel flavoring. Huge amounts of alcohol that is very evident, but also has some lingering malt sweetness. I couldn’t see finishing a bottle myself. Definately a nice sipper in snifter with a good cigar. A must for whiskey lovers, and cheaper as well.

Sweet, caramelly, malty. Doesn’t attempt to hide alcohol. Feels more powerful than it actually is. That doesn’t make it unenjoyable though. Beautiful syrupy mouthfeel.

Very malty. Extremely alcoholic and violent. Like a fine port wine. This beer makes you blush.

Nice caramel hoppy aroma. ALcohol overpowers the body. Finishes slightly sweet.

UPDATED: NOV 19, 2006 Re-rate. 4 year old bottle. Pours candy apple red with an initial white head that quickly dissipates.Smell is of sweet cherries, sugar, some metallic elemenst and mellow alcohol. Taste is of some sweet sugar and malt with warming alchol. Not nearly as cloying as a fresh sample. Finish is light and sweet. The alcohol in this is well masked.

Quite good. Malty with nice complexity, medium body. Alcohol was present, but definitely not forward. Would like to have this again.

Clear copper kettle color/ fleeting ivory foam. Rich dark bread, sweet spicy fruit cake aromas. Medium bodied with average co2. Sweet dark bread flavors with raisons, pit fruits, sweet spices, boozy warming finish--good

Pours out a deep amber color with bubbly/frothy head. Aroma is very seet matl, caramel, alcohol and light fruitiness. Taste is somewhat syrupy but filled with caramel malt, fruit, and alcohol. For 11%abv it was pretty smooth and at $2.99 it was pretty damn smooth.
