3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 BMan1113VR (6144) - Los Angeles, California, USA - MAR 13, 2008
Served in a proper EKU Snifter at Academie de la Biere in Paris. Aroma is sweet of dry fruits and maybe some raspberries with alcohol. Clear amber body with a small head that disappears soon after pouring. Tastes a lot like the Samichlaus I had recently. Drinks a bit like a liquor with a kind of syrupy feel and noticeable alcohol in the taste and stomach, but it is pretty good overall. Not something that you could or would want to drink a lot of.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 madvike (1296) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 6, 2012
Bottle - Pours clear copper with a thin light tan head. Nice nose on this one--sweet and malty with some boozy sherry notes. Big rich, boozy bread--yum. Taste is pretty thick and syrupy, with maple notes, candi sugar, and sweet honey bread. Restrained boozy notes, more warming than sharp. Wow...I’m not much for big boozy beers these days, but this is pretty good. Update - as this warmed, it got much boozier and sharper. Gotta dock this a couple points, as the smell doesn’t match with the taste.

A hazy, light copper pour with a white head. It has a sweet lollipop aroma mixed with some bready malt. The full body has a slick texture with average carbonation. The taste is moderately sweet with some alcohol taste and warmth in the finish.

Pours out amber with a good head. Nicely, some kind of weird smell. Sweetnes, candysucre inside. Taste also a bit weird, but good. The sucre comes up again, some liquorise inside. Nice, some candy, sweet taste, also spiced up good. Seems some amaretto inside and prunes.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 caralkaline87 (386) - Washington DC, USA - MAY 15, 2010
Pours amber with a quick fading off white head. Nose is sweet and slightly maple-syrupy. The flavor is fairly strong and tastes like a combination of fruit and brown sugar with some definate alcohol in the background. A few sips and you’ll feel this one. The finish is medium and continues the alcohol and fruitiness without going overboard on sweetness. Not a bad beer at all.

Flaske 33 cl.
