COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This world-famous beer has the character and richness to stand in for fine sherry or port. Just the right degree of sweetness - never cloying; wonderfully aromatic and warming. EKU 28 is the one whenever something good and strong is needed.

Bottle. Poured amber with an off-white head that settles to a ring and left light lace. Sweet aromas of brown sugar, honey, and a light alcohol backing. The flavor found honey and malt with a light bourbon undertone. Medium body and sweet.

Pours almost like the color of ice tea. Head quickly dissipates. Very watery mouthfeel. I mean like water . I reckoned this beer would be more velvety. Obvious taste of alcohol. Lingers after you swallow and warms your mouth. NICE!! Sweet, but dominated by alcohol.

Pours a clear, bright copper color, with a quarter inch head that quickly fades to a spotty cap, leaving behind only traces of lacing. Smell; this has a strong grainy profile up front. After I let this settle for a couple of minutes there are some nice hints of cherries, vanilla and caramel malts. The alcohol is very present in the aroma as well. Taste; this very sweet, and that graininess comes through in the taste, but not quite as strongly as in the smell. Vanilla, cherries and caramel malts all come through as well, and there’s also an almost oak barrel flavor going on. Mouthfeel is nice and full, but it’s a bit on the syrupy side for me, and with the alcohol so strong it’s definitely a sipper.

Bottle. Pours clear, maple syrup coloured with a very short-lived yellowish head. Within a minute, the glass looked like a cup of tea. Aromas of cinnamon, almonds, caramel ad candied fruits such as figs prunes and dates. As the beer warmed up, extra aromas of marrons glacés and caramelized bananas were released. The first sip was surprisingly bitter, but the aromas previously mentioned come through shortly afterwards. After amalgamation with saliva, the fruitiness subsides and reveals a new spectrum of malts including coffee and milk/white chocolate and a hint of liquorice. Mouthfeel is pleasant despite being a little watery for the intensity of the aromas and flavours. The alcohol content is barely hidden but blends well and is most noticeable in the aftertaste which is reminiscent of a freshly served sticky date pudding... flambé. Overall a very pleasant beer despite its unfortunate appearance due to the lack of head.

Amber coloured, small off white head. Sweet yeasty aroma, light madeira touch, little dough. Medium body, sweet alcoholic with some carbonation and light roasted. Finish is in the beginning quiet flat, but than, a haevy trouht-warming alcoholic ending, somewhat sweet-bitter.Heavy, strange but nice.

Bottle. Sweet malty aroma, lots of red berry and fruitiness, molasses, raisin, brown sugar, grape, very ripe. Clear orange body with a creamy beige-tanned head. Taste is overly full (syrupy) and sweet, loads of ripe fruit and malt with a noticeable but not overpowering degree of alcohol. Sweet with no bitter. Aftertaste is a bit sugary (under-attenuated?) and boozy, but but only lightly. Caramel joins the fruit party first hinted at in the nose. Really creamy with a few swishes. Something of an intense Maibock. Reminds me of a tripel recently had, though this seems a bit flawed. A raw dessert beer that, unlike most of the raters here, I’d happily have again.

Bottle: Very clear copper color with a small, quick to dissapate white head. No lacing at all. Nose is quite fruity, malty, and hints of cider qualities. Taste is sweet with fruits and malt with a warming alcohol finish. For my first ever Eisbock I was quite pleased.
