Nose of corn, grass and molasses. Flavor is caramel, grain, hay, peppery wood and cherry liqueur. Near-medium body is smooth, alcohol-dried and chest-warming. Give this one a chance; it gets better the further you delve.

Anyway, it is one of the better beers at being able to handle the high alcohol content. At one time this was the Strongest beer in the world. Times have changed. The original ice beer!

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 24, 2009 The aroma reminds of bourbon or whiskey or rum - liquor at any rate. The appearance is a rumlike hue. The palate is strangely reminiscent of a tawny port - sweet, slightly cloying, with a lingering sweet aftertaste. Nice, but probably too sweet and too strong to be a staple. troopie (915), USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 17, 2009 Bottle Poured pale red orange with a medium white head. Aroma of raisins, malt and alcohol. Full body, with a malty note and a raisiny tinge, . Then comes in an unpleasant alcohol burn and an oily note to the finish. JamesTrab (15), Matelica, Italy
