A truly great Pils, a little maltier and more ‘Bavarian’ than the rest. The 6-packs are brand new for the American market.

Golden colour with a generous head, really lasting. The flavour is well balanced and quite malty, with an hoppy finish, with the right amount of bitterness. Really nice.

(5 liter mini-keg, ABV 4,9%). Moderate aroma of hay, light golden colour, enormous head when poured from the mini-keg - like the head of a weissbier. Clean crisp flavour, good bitterness makes this a better-than-average pilsener. The mini-keg is great for parties!

This is one of the better Kulmbacher beers that I've had the opportunity to drink. Pours a light yellow with a thick, creamy head. Hops are just about right for a pils, and leave a slight bitter finish. I'm pleased that this pils is a bit more maltier than most. I actually prefer this to Urquel. Mini-keg @ $10.99. This one is crisp and surprisingly refreshing.

11.2 oz brown bottle. Freshness date of 03105. Whatever that stands for. Poured out a clear, very light, straw yellow color. Not much head to speak of, left a thin covering of fine bubbles at the top of the glass. Aromas of lemons, pilsner malts, yeast, and some bread in the nose. Tastes crisp, lemony, somewhat refreshing. Slight hops bite at the end, not much else. Much better than American macro swill, that much is certain.

Points for a German import pils in a brown bottle. Light yellow with a medium to large white creamy head. No skunk, subtle sweet grain aroma with crisp hops. Crisp, smooth, refreshing taste, slightly dry finish. An everyday beer.

This is indeed a classic german pilsener. A bit sour, pretty fresh and "clean".

Brilliant yellow with the normal stout airy head common to these beers. Usual grainy German pils-type aroma. The beer tastes a bit skunky like most imported versions, unfortunately. But behind it is the classic German-style lager ... extremely sharp and crisp. A good drink.

Straw color with a frothy white head and decent lace. Light malt and floral nobel hops nose. Light, dry and freshing. A touch thin and watery. Malt noticable very late after the sharp hops finish. A real quencher, but lacks body.

Fairly light, pale gold, nice clean refreshing aroma. Fruity hoppy aroma, as pils should be. Lighter on body but well made. Only if there was a bit more flavour this would be one of best pilsners.
