3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
16 oz pils glass draft at Gralehaus in Louisville, Kentucky (technically in the garden between Gralehaus and Holy Grale). The pour is a clear golden with a one inch pure white head. Great retention on the head. The aroma is cracker malt along with a bit of mineral and earth. The taste is fresh and crisp, nice malt character along with grass and mineral in the finish. The palate is light bodied with soft carbonation, unfiltered mouth feel and a bit of sweet in the finish. Clean and tasty Pils.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Can 50cl, nose is on dry toasted malt. Aroma is low, slightly malty, peppery hops that gives a medium bitterness at the finish, very common, sweet malt touch, just ok.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from the Sybarite Pig in Boca Raton, FL. Nice early day beer with lunch. Pours a light yellow-gold with a mostly clear body. Thick white headed lasted and laced in my tulip. Aroma of bread, cereal, dough, straw, and pears. The taste was a good showing of the aroma. Light and crisp. Finish is straw/hay and light yeasts. Refreshing and good.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
translucent straw with a foamy white head. medium body with medium-high carbonation.
aroma: pilsner malt, herbal hops, salty minerality, faint notes of sulphur and vinegar.
taste: sweet pilsner malt followed by crisp salty minerality and giving way to herbal hop bitterness for a clean finish.
a bit softer than most german pils, more sessional for me, like a czech pils.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
330 ml bottle poured into footed pilsner. Clear pale golden color with three fingers of sudsy white head with decent retention and lacing. Aroma of malty honey sweetness with bready notes and some slight spiciness. Flavor is clean and refreshing. I’m not generally a pilsner guy, but this was a nice change of pace.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This strikes me as being more of a Dortmunder than a pils but who’s counting. It pours a clear golden color w/ a scant white head and just a little bit of lacing. The nose is of cut hay and and bread dough. This is just a bit sweet w/ a grain-husk malt character. The finish is quite bitter and clean aside from a bit of grass/chlorophyll character. This is very drinkable and flavorful, a tasty German lager whatever style it is.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear gold with beady white lasting head. Sweet malty and grainy aroma. Lively pils champagne appearance. Light bodied, very dry and crisp palate. Moderate hop bitterness with a medium low hop flavor to back up the malt. Doesn’t have the green bottle oxidized skunk, but it does have a slight cardboard staleness. Slight toasty malt flavors with a light grainy sweetness. Pronounced flaked maiz flavors increase as the beer warmed.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours out into a mug with a gold/orange color, crystal-clear with a pile of foamy white head. Sharp German hop nose along with hints of honey and yeasty dough. The honey sweetness really comes out in the flavor, but there is also some underlying lager funk that’s a little offputting. Lingering floral hop flavors along with a bitter sensation. It has a well-balanced, smooth mouthfeel. This is a good pils, but there are better ones to choose from instead (and worse ones to avoid!)
