The first wheat beer I tried. Fairly good, still strange enough for the untrained taste. A bit yeasty but leaves a nice fresh bread taste in your mouth after drinking.

Appearance: clear blond color, semi-turbid. Medium head, white color, persistent and consistent.
Aroma: mainly the characteristic peppery yeast of “Cervecería Artesanal el Bolsón”; moreover the wheat. Low hoppy; citric-fruity of oranges and lemons. Hot spicy-fruity of paprika.
Flavor: sweetness of wheat and malty; fresh and citric fruitiness of lemon and green apples. Highly yeasty, with the peppery touch of this brewer. Low hoppy, high sweet.
Palate: light body, semi-oily texture. Low carbonation.
Fresh, rare yeasty, unbalanced sweet-dryness.

Hazy blonde with a thick white head, Rather surprising aroma of barnyard and lactic acid. In mouth, a citrussy malt, with light lemon coughdrop, some gueuze caracter. Well, it may have been a decent gueuze, but this is a weizen. Bought at La Anonima, Calafate, 3.99$AR. May 2006.

Sweet, malty and yeasty. A fine, if unusual, wheat brew that’s not entirely like other hefeweizens. The El Bolson line is available at most large grocery stores in Buenos Aires.
