3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pint glass at the brewery. Dark amber pour with a small white head. No real aroma to speak of as this was served way too cold. The taste was harshly bitter with magnum type hops, a bit of pine, and set in a caramel malt base that also had biscuit and dough. The palate is full with lively carbonation. Finishes medium in duration and biter. Overall: Not bad but this is SD and the bar here is set higher for IPA’s.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught @ El Cajon Brewing. Amber gold pour, slight white head. Citrus, malts, reserved hop profile, smooth buttery texture, gum. Not very bitter, medium low carbonation. Not sure it succeeds as an IIPA but it’s interesting on its own terms.
