COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The cider "El Gaitero Extra" is produced by traditional methods. We select a mixture of asturian cider apples with a great aromatic richness paying attention of organoleptic characteristics. The high quality juice so obtained is transformed after slow fermentation at low temperatures.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Bergen Storsenter. Light yellow-green body with a short-lived crust of a head. Lively carbonation is evident in the glass, though. Aroma is wood, apple juice and mild yeasty tones. Taste is sweet apples, wood, apple cores. A bit one-dimensional, but nice enough. Medium carbonation in the mouth, smooth palate otherwise. An OK cider.

Bottle. Pale golden, fine champagne carbonation. Suptle apple and light barnyard aroma - more refined than the white label cousin, but maybe not as flavourful. Dry apples, a hint pear, light acidity. Fresh sparkly body. Dry finish, apple orchard retronasal.

(Sample at Papsř’s) Pours a pale straw with little off-white head. Aroma a thin, sweet apple with no barrel-notes. Lively carbonation, medium body, watery texture sweet finish. Taste is mostly sweet with apple notes. When it comes to cider my preference is for something a lot more dry and barrel-aged. This one gets too close to Somersby and Herrljunga. I’m even less experienced in rating cider than with beer so my tasting vocabulary might be a bit limited here.
