1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 noncaloric (684) - Madison, USA - JAN 6, 2010
Pours hazy gold, very thin white head. Faint malt aroma, quickly fading to nothing. Flavor, very up front with some raw grain scuzziness. Oh my, this stuff has knockback power. After the initial reaction, there is some complexity here, creamed corn with a hint of bubblegum. Thin body. I wasn’t expecting much but this is actually bad.

This is one of those beers where i think maybe it might have been "better" put into context. That is if there is a "context". Is this supposed to be some sort of a re-creation of a historical style of beer from Mexico? Is there at very least some president for calling this beer "Mexican Style" outside of the fact that it is contract brewed for a Mexican super market? I don’t know.
The beer pours a golden color with a big white head.
The aroma is faint, but gets a little bit more pronouced as the beer warms. Generally is smells like corn flour with a little bit of fruit that’s starting to get a little funky.
The flavor holds this weird love hate thing with me, it’s weird, and sort of funky, salty, kind of tart, but corny and kind of Malt liquor-y. It’s like if you mixed some Corona, some Gose, and some Olde English 800 together. I like the Gose-y elements fine enough.
Totally weird but somehow not totally offensive.
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 BVery (2554) - Burnsville, Minnesota, USA - NOV 8, 2011
Bottle. Light yellow/straw pour with a minimal white head. Aroma is bread dough and slight corn, and something kind of skunky. Light palate. Taste is slightly better than the aroma - also some bread dough and corn. Not very good.
2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 heemer77 (4796) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - OCT 29, 2011
Bottle. A slightly hazy bronze gold colored brew with a thin white head. The nose has dough, corn and some sweet apples. The taste is fairly sweet, like watered down apple juice with hints of lemons. There is also some light dough. Bland overall, this one is possibly infected, but I notice all the other rates state the same flavors. Just a strange one.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 wlajwl (1801) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - OCT 27, 2011
Odd sweet maltiness in aroma, almost artificial. The flavor is sweet and funky, with a bit of spice. Strange idea for an ale, not the worst, but could be a lot better.
1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 esjaygee (2599) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 9, 2011
Straw yellow with a medium soapy white head. Aroma of corn, grains and malt. Thin bodied brew tastes like a corn tortilla with some sweet malt and light lemon. Semi dry finish with too much freaking corn.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 drpimento (1752) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 5, 2011
You know, not too bad. It is an ale, after all, not a lager and it is that way. With an aggressive pour there was a good sized white head that soon settled down and no lace. Aroma was the best part- quite spicey, malt, hop. Flavor has some of that, malt comes out more, maybe some corn, a little chalk, and wet grain. Body is ok and thankfully so is carbonation. Finish is like flavor and of medium length. Straightforward, no frills, blonde ale.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Jabswitch (274) - Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 12, 2011
I had this on tap at Sprechers restaurant in Madison, WI. Had no idea what it was. Served in a shaker, it was light gold and perfectly clear. Not much of a head and served with a lemon wedge. Tartness in aroma. I expected a very light tasting beer but found this to be quite tasty. Citrus dominated and very thirst quenching. Not a lot of carbonation.
0.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20 crossovert (2786) - Wisconsin, USA - MAR 27, 2011
A contract brew, god knows why they serve it at their establishments, but I nabbed a sample complete with lime wedge at the Lake Geneva location. It was pretty awful with plenty o corn and mineral water.
3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 sbanach (203) - USA - MAR 26, 2011
This one was different and the brewery thought outside the box. Not a typical brew for a brewery to do and sprecher did a great job. Much better than a swill corona or tecate. Golden color, smells citrus, served with a lime, no lace, light hops, light malts, great beer overall
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20 bpreo (994) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - JAN 23, 2011
Like an expensive bottle of Corona, nothing more, no matter what the fans tell you.
