3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from a bottle. Hazy gold with a creamy, white head. Citrus aroma. Bitter grapefruit taste. Bitterness fades rather quickly. Very easy drinking. Pretty good but the bottle is almost 4 months old. I wonder how much better this would be fresh.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Straw colored pour with a white head. Citrusy hop aromas. Big grapefruit hop notes with melon and honey undercurrents. A bit unbalanced with a substantial amount of bitterness from the hops. For 5.5%, it’s got a very good mouthfeel and body. I could drink this bad mutha all day long. For me, this is the definition of a session beer....

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bomber bottle. Persistent thin white covering over amberish yellow body and lacing fast and wispy. A bit of old grocery funk in the aroma that the citra seems calculated to disguise or balance. Taste is mild salt, bitter. Palate is clean, and fairly fresh, astringent like fruit juice with a thin creamy finish. Seems a fine sample of an American Pale Ale. Not my style with a bit too much hops, but I’m not sure of the dynamic of its role in this brew.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, dated a week ago. Fresh Citra powers this thing. Very clean. Appreciate the hop showcase at a low ABV but it feels like it use a little more backbone to be a real knockout. Definitely a winner in its class, up there with Noble Breakaway as a solid LA area APA.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a golden color with a thin white head. Hop, citrus, floral, honey and malt aroma. Hop, citrus, honey, floral, biscuit and malt flavors. Medium light body and carbonation with mild bitterness and a citrus hop finish. The hops carry this beer, could use a more substantial malt body.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A steady pour into my Tripel Karmeliet tulip produces a two-finger thick, pale tan colored head. The beer is a pretty, light amber hue that shows a brilliantly clear, brightly, almost metallic, hued gold when held up to the light. The aroma smells of woody citrus and tropical fruit character; tangelo zest, lychee, guava, bits of citrusy pine / spruce tips, and perhaps a hint of peppery herbal character. There is even a touch of malt character here that just barely comes through with a touch of pale crackers and sun-baked straw. As the beer warms the hop character picks up a touch of metallic character.
The beer is quite dry, but still amply hoppy with a smooth bitterness from beginning to end. This has lots of spicy citrus character with lots of tangerine oil, and peppery guava that lingers in the finish. The finish has a bit of cracker like malt character that gets completely overwhelmed most of the time by an herbal, sort of a dank, almost "hemp" like, with a green, herbal character that provides an edge and a bite to this beer.
Quite a tasty Pale Ale, definitely a nice show case for the Citra hops.
